Ben Gelven from Saint Louis, MO took the lead in the boys 16-18 division with an even score. Gelven did an outstanding job on the course and brought in his best tournament score. With five birdies, he put up scores of 72 for round 1 and 70 for round 2. Ben secured the first place win with 142 strokes. This was his fourth tournament of the year and his first win. Bennett Dolter from Peosta, IA and Spencer Mathus from Chesterfield, MO tied for the runner up honors. Both boys brought in scores of 73 and 75 for a total of 148 strokes in their first HJGT tournament. We applaud their efforts and can’t wait to see how they do on tour in the future.

First place in the boys 16-18 division went to Wangwa (Steven) Lai from Howey in the Hills, FL. This was Lai’s first HJGT tournament of the year as well as his first win. He brought in scores of 72 and 73 along with seven birdies. His total for the tournament was 145 strokes. Long time HJGT player, Will Browning from Orlando, FL placed as our runner up honors. Will brought in an exceptional scorecard with four birdies; his total for the tournament was 146 strokes. Finishing up top three honors was Takato Imoto from Osaka, Japan. He put up scores of 74 for both days giving him a total of 148 strokes.

Newcomer to the HJGT, Patrick Friel from Arlington, MA was our first place winner in the boys 16-18 division this past weekend. Patrick played a great game on the course and brought in an exceptional scorecard. With a round 1 score of 79 and a 73 for round 2, he finished off the weekend with 152 strokes. With a total score of 154 strokes, Max Baldwin placed as our runner up honors. Baldwin, from Tolland, CT has participated in seven HJGT tournaments, this past weekend was his fifth Top 2 win. Leo Dixon from Bedford, NH finishes up the top three honors. With scores of 78 for both days, he finished off the weekend with a total of 156 strokes.

Tony Kurn from Mahtomedi, MN is a newcomer to the HJGT and played in his first tournament this past weekend, he led the boys 16-18 division. With seven birdies on the weekend, Kurn brought in scores of 77 and 72. He took the win with a total of 149 strokes. With almost identical scorecards, Landon Rogala from Maple Grove, MN and Charlie Willette from Eden Prairie, MN tied for the runner up honors. Both boys put up scores of 78 in round 1 and 74 in round 2. They finished the weekend with a total of 152 strokes.
