UPPERCO – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Stevenson University at the Piney Branch Country Club from July 12-13. Boys and girls traveled from all over the globe to participate in the 36-hole tournament. The event had five divisions; Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Girls 14-18 and Girls U13.
boys 16-18
In his first HJGT tournament, Ryan Henneman from Phoenix, MD finished in first place in the boys 16-18 division. Henneman brought in a fantastic scorecard for the tournament. With a total of five birdies, he brought in a round 1 score of 77 and a 74 for round 2. He finished the tournament with a final score of 151. The runner up honors went to Andrew Bilson from Lititz, PA. With scores of 78 and 74, he brought in a total of 152 strokes, this is his lowest score so far this year. Andrew is in the Top 50 for HJGT point rankings. Finishing up top three honors, Ray Ramayush from Kolkata, India brought in scores of 80 and 76 along with one eagle and four birdies for a total of 156 strokes.

boys 14-15
In the boys 14-15 division, Conor Whalen from Trinity, FL finished the tournament as our champion. Whalen brought in scores of 80 and 70 along with one eagle and five birdies. He was able to take the victory with 150 strokes. This follows an outstanding first place win at the Summer College Prep Series at UF. Ethan Goldsborough from Potomac, MD took home the runner up honors. He brought in scores of 83 and 74 for a total of 157 strokes. This was Ethan’s second HJGT tournament of the year and his best score so far. Ben Aronson from Demarest, NJ finishes up the top three honors with a final score of 158.

boys 11-13
In the boys 11-13 division, Dane Mohap from Nazareth, PA was our first place finisher. This was Mohap’s sixth win of the year. With a total of two birdies and scores of 72 in round 1 and 78 in round 2, he finished the tournament with a total of 150 strokes. Dane currently holds the third place spot in the HJGT point rankings. With a final score of 167, Evan Goldsborough from Potomac, MD takes home the runner up honors. This was Evan’s second tournament of the year, he previously placed as the runner up honors at the Virginia Summer Junior Open with a score of 160.

girls 14-18
Leading the girls 14-18 division was Riley Smith from Myrtle Beach, SC. this was Smith’s first HJGT tournament of the year, she did a fantastic job on the course. With scores of 92 for both days, she secured the win with a total of 184 strokes. Newcomer, Alexandra Swam from Jefferson, MD took home the runner up honors for the tournament. Swam put up scores of 91 in round 1 and 101 in round 2 for a total score of 192. Daniella Espina from Freeport, NY finishes up the top three honors. Espina brought in scores of 117 and 116 totaling 233.

girls 13 & under
To finish off a great tournament, Holly Hinton from Bethesda, MD was crowned champion of the girls under 13 division. This was Hinton’s second tournament of the year and her second win. She was able to secure the win with a round 1 score of 90 and a round 2 score of 93 totaling 183 strokes.
