Windy City Winners

  On Thursday, April 20, 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Wheaton, IL to host the Chicago Junior Shootout at the beautiful Cantigny Golf Club. The players battled through a cold and windy Saturday to find sun and lower scores on Sunday. Even with a minor frost delay Sunday, nothing could stop us from having a great weekend!   Boys 16-18 Division

Kaleb Hagge of Morning Sun, IA is the Boys 16-18 champion. Hagge solidified the victory in his division carding a 76 Saturday and 72 Sunday for a two-day total of 148. Connor King of St. Charles, IL finished in 2nd with a two-day total of 152 (77-75).  3rd place was split between Jimmy Morton of Sugar Grove, IL and Gavin Simon of Rochester, NY who both carded a two-day total of 153. The players had a great time competing against some of the best junior golfers in the country.         Boys 14-15 Division

Max Farley of Orland Park, IL is the champion of the Boys 14-15 division. Consistency was key for Farley as he posted a round of 76 Saturday and 75 Sunday for a 151 two-day total to claim the title. Brock Barnhart of Robins, IA came in a close 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 152 (77-75). Luke Tedford of Lake Forest, IL was the 3rd place finisher after a two-day total of 153 (79-74). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.       Boys 11-13 Division

Nile Petersen of Cedar Rapids, IA is the Boys 11-13 champion. After a 79 Saturday, Petersen closed strong with a final round of 78 to secure the victory finishing with a two-day total of 157. Tommy Staruck of Downers Grove, IL and Andrew Lim of Naperville, IL tied at 2nd with two-day totals of 160. Noah Kirsch of Lancaster, WI finished alone in 3rd place with a two-day total of 168 (84-84). The boys had a fun time navigating through the course and showed maturity beyond their years in assaulting its many challenges.       Girls 14-18 Division

Brooke Biermann of Wildwood, MO is the Girls 14-18 champion. Biermann had a 78 Saturday and followed that with a sensational 73 on Sunday for a two-day total of 151. Finishing in 2nd from Clarkston, MI was Danielle Staskowski who posted rounds of 80 and 75 to finish with a total of 155. Sarah Arnold of St. Charles, IL finished in 3rd place with a two-day total of 157 (80-77). The ladies each enjoyed their experience, with some intense competition down the stretch.         Girls 13U Division

Elizabeth Anderson is the Girls 13 and Under champion. Anderson of Lockport, IL emerged victorious after posting a two-day total of 164 (85-79). Finishing 2nd with a two-day total was Ella Greenberg of Rockford, IL posting a two-day total of 171 (88-83). Finishing in 3rd for the girls 13U was Lilia Henkel of Grand Rapids, MI who posted two rounds of 86 for a total of 172. The girls displayed tremendous fortitude while trekking through the difficult course layout.         Boys 10U Division

Callan Fahey, a local of Wheaton, IL took home the 1st place trophy for the boys 10U division. Fahey, who was tied with Webb after day one, posted a Sunday score of 80 to finish with a 168 (88-80). Steven Webb of Elkhart, IN finished with a two-day total of 172 (88-84). Coming in 3rd in the Boys 10U division was Matthew Lim of Naperville, IL who finished with a 200 (99-101).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
