Central New Jersey Junior Challenge in Jackson, New Jersey

(September 10 – 11, 2016)

 Hunting for Birdies

On Thursday, September, 8 2016, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Jackson, NJ to host the Central New Jersey Junior Challenge at Westlake Golf and Country Club. Temperatures rose into the low 90s on Saturday, before cooling off into the 80s with blustery winds. The HJGT would like to thank The Westlake Golf and Country Club staff for allowing us to host our tournament at a great venue. AJGA Performance Stars and Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings were up for grabs this weekend, as 68 players battled for 1st place in their respective age divisions. While the golf course wasn’t overwhelming players with distance, it demanded accuracy and precision as they navigated their way through the course.

Boys 16-18 Division

Hayden Rousselle of Doylestown, Pennsylvania fired rounds of 74 and 73 to capture the Boys 16-18 division title. Shooting the lowest round of the day, Hayden capped off a stellar round in blustery conditions with a clutch birdie on the 18th hole to seal the win. Coming in a close second was Myoung Kim of Plainsboro, New Jersey, finishing at (+6). Rounding out the top 3 was Jordan Sanyshyn of Brewster, New York at (+7). Each player gained valuable experience that they can take with them into the tail end of the golf season and into next year.     Boys 14-15 Division
