Canterwood Golf & Country Club Gig Harbor, WA (March 12-13, 2016)
Rising Through the Storm
On March 12-13, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to the beautiful state of Washington to host the Washington Kickoff. The Washington Kickoff was the first event the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has hosted in Washington. On Saturday, the first day of the tournament was played at Canterwood Golf & Country Club. The course was in good shape, although playing conditions were wet, and it allowed for a well-challenged day on the course. Sunday’s round at McCormick Woods was unfortunately canceled due to the weather, rendering first round scores as final results. Winners in all five-age divisions received an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship on Dec. 3-4 2016 and the 2016 Druh Belts Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13. The top ten finishers also received points towards end year honors. This includes all HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup.
