(December 6, 2015) The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour headed south to the ChampionsGate Golf Resort in ChampionsGate, Florida to host the Tournament of Champions. The weekend was played on the tough 72 par international course. The competition was filled with 15-18 boys who have won a tournament this year. Both days were full of heavy winds and difficult greens, but the boys managed to overcome everything and make out well.

Khavish Varadan won the Tampa Bay Junior Open and the Innisbrook Junior Classic and went on to be our winner today. Khavish managed two under on Saturday’s windy conditions and shot one over today to have a two day total of 143. He ended up with 7 birdies and 23 pars. Alex Lee of Orlando, Florida finished second with a two day total of 146. He struggled a little for the first day of the tournament, but managed to come back with an impressive 69 on Sunday. Takafumi Shimoji from Suwanee, Georgia took third place this weekend right behind Lee with a two day of 147. Shimoji was consistent shooting a 73 on day one and a 74 on day two. He ended up with 24 pars and 5 birdies.
