The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Comes to Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Junior Shootout is set for May 14-15
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the Pittsburgh Junior Shootout! This event will be held at Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pa on May 14-15. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play one of Pennsylvania’s premier courses! This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. Both rounds will begin with a single tee start from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Registration for members is $199 and $249 for non-members. The Pittsburgh Junior Shootout is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), winners in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 National Championship on Dec. 3-4, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Druh Belts Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13, and top-10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.
American Junior Golf Association
- This event does not have guaranteed AJGA stars. If this event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18 = 40 players, Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 14-18 = 12 players, and Girls under 13 = six players.
Junior Golf Scoreboard
- Ranking available for any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
Course Information
Located in the foothills of the Laurel Mountains, Glengarry Golf Links is one of Pennsylvania’s finest golf options. In 1999, it was named by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s as one of two of the Tri-State area’s (Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia) Best New Public Golf Courses. The course plays to a par of 70 and resembles a Scottish links style course. Yardages for the Pittsburgh Junior Shootout are as follows: Boys 10U: 5,022; Girls 13U: 5,072; Boys 11-13/Girls 14-18: 5,690; Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18: 6,206.
