The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Tampa, Florida from July 13-14, 2015 for the Hunter’s Green Junior Shootout. The Girl's 15-18 Champion will earn four Performance Stars and the Top three will each earn one Performance Star. The Girl's 11-14 Champion will earn one Performance Star. Hunter's Green Junior Shootout had guaranteed AJGA Performance Stars at stake. Top three place winners in all divisions received an exception to the 2015 Tour Championship December 5-6. Three divisions were ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. The top ten finishers in each division received points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup.
Alex Lee of Orlando, Florida shot an impressive two under today to make for an amazing comeback, for a two-day total of 145. Swinging hard in the final round to make up for shooting 75 in the first round. Lee worked for his victory in the Boy's 15-18 division. He finished only three ahead of Brandon, Florida native Dante Davis who shot one under in the first round, for a two-day total of 148. The fight was tough and long for Cameron Fady of Belleair Bluffs, Florida, John Milner of Odessa, Florida, and George Wood of Naples, Florida, who all finished with a tie for third. Lee’s win earns him an invite to the 2015 Tour Championship December 5-6. Congratulations!
Land O Lakes, Florida native Connor Murphy dominated the Boy's 13-14 division with a 71 in the first round and a 73 in the final round, for a two-day even par of 144. Murphy finishes 13 strokes ahead of Tampa, Florida native Grayson Maddox. His two-day total of 157 was just enough to secure him the victory over third place finisher Carson Moran of Tampa, Florida, who finished just shy of second with a two-day total of 158. Murphy earns his third victory this season with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Great work!
Tampa, Florida native Armand Loscalzo beat the rain in the final round to finish with a two-day total of 160. Loscalzo driving past Adam Tanabe of Sewickley, Pennsylvania who finished with a two-day total of 212. Keep working hard, boys!
Emily Black of Naples, Florida shot three strokes better in the final round, with a 73, than in the first round, to finish with a two-day total of 148 for the Girl's 15-18 age division. Maddie Cody of Brownsburg, Indiana and Amanda Gartrell of Lakeland, Florida finished just two strokes behind with a tie for second for a two-day total of 151. Coming in close for second with a finish of third, Sofia Cadavid Baron of Bogota, Colombia keeps Cody and Gartrell on their toes with a two-day total of 152. Black's win earns her four performance stars! Amazing golf, ladies!
Lillian Berry of Dover, Florida finished with a strong victory for the Girl's 11-14 age division, for a two-day even par of 144. Berry drove into first place with an incredible 15-strokes ahead of Madison Hewlett of Oldsmar, Florida. Madison took second with a two-day total of 159. Rachel Carlson of Bradenton, Florida finished not far behind with a two-day total of 163. Berry's win earns her one performance star. Congratulations!
