Saturday’s opening round brought extremely difficult scoring conditions with cold temperatures, steady rain throughout the day, and 10-12 mph winds. Clay Amlung would lead wire to wire to take the title in the Boys 15-18 Division on the Championship Kampen Course at Purdue University. Amlung posted the only score in the 70s in his division on Saturday (77) and take a three shot lead into Sunday’s final round. Amlung would credit his ball striking and consistency from tee to green as assets that led to his great opening round. Amlung would not rest easy though, as 3 players sat within 4 shots of his lead heading into Sunday. Sunday brought sunny skies and much dryer conditions, but wind gusts of 10-15mph tested players on the already difficult Kampen Course. Cam Lippoldt, already a winner in 2014, would challenge Amlung’s lead early on Sunday with a birdie on the difficult par 3 2nd hole after an Amlung bogey on the opening hole. Amlung however would bounce back with birdies on the 6th and 8th holes on Sunday. Amlung and Lippoldt would battle back and forth, but two double bogeys on Lippoldt’s final nine holes would be too much to overcome as Amlung signed for a 78 and a 3 shot victory. Amlung finished with a two day total of 155 on the Championship Kampen Course. Garret Jensen would come away with the third place finish after a two day total of 163. Jensen led in several categories in the Boys 15-18 Division with the most birdies made, par 3 scoring (3.1) and par 5 scoring (5.0). Amlung led in par 4 scoring with a 4.2 scoring average over the weekend. Both Amlung and Lippoldt led in most pars made over the weekend with a total of 22 made by each player.

Tuchscherer opened her event with an 83 in extremely difficult scoring conditions. Tuchscherer explained that her ball striking and good putting allowed her to post such a good score on Saturday. Tuchscherer’s 83 on Saturday would give her a 10 shot lead heading into Sunday’s final round. Afterwards Tuchscherer stated that she kept the same mindset on Sunday to hit fairways and greens and give herself good chances to make par or birdie. Kiley Swisher and Maddie Cody would both finish tied for 2nd with a two day total of 182. Swisher bounced back on Sunday improving by 12 shots with an 85 to take home a set of golf pride grips. Tuchscherer led the Girls 15-18 Division with most pars made (15) and also lead in par 4 scoring and par 5 scoring. Maddie Cody would lead in par 3 scoring (3.6) over the weekend.
