Brooks Brothers Open at Myrtle Beach

  On Thursday, June 15, 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Myrtle Beach to host the Brooks Brothers Open at the International Club. The golfers fought through a windy Saturday to find sun and lower scores on Sunday. Overall, the players had a great weekend competing not only on a regional level, but also against top international players.  Boys 16-18

Boys 16-18 myrtle beach

Thomas Henson of Hermann, MO is the Boys 16-18 champion. Henson posted a 78 on Saturday and a 75 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 153. He beat out Kevin Burris of Conway, SC in a sudden death two-hole playoff for the win. Burris, who also finished with a total of 153, was able to improve from an 83 on Saturday to an impressive 70 on Sunday. Matthew Griego of North Myrtle Beach, SC came in third, posting an 80 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday. The players had a great time competing against some of the best junior golfers in the country, and most golfers were able to improve on the second day.     Boys 14-15

Boys 14-15 Myrtle Beach

Cooper Jordan of Saint Johns, FL is the champion of the Boys 14-15 division. Jordan dominated the division. He posted a 77 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday for a 159 two-day total to claim the title. Anson Vossberg of Myrtle Beach, SC came in second after finishing with a two-day total of 178 (87-91). Walker Devers of Murrells Inlet, SC was the third place finisher after a tow-day total of 180 (85-95). The players enjoyed the course and had fun competing in their division.     Boys 11-13

Boys 11-13 Myrtle Beach

Clinton Daly of Charlotte, NC is the Boys 11-13 champion. After a 74 Saturday, Daly closed strong with a final round of 71 to secure the victory with a very impressive two-day total of 145. Diego Santoloya of Myrtle beach, SC came in second with a total of 163 (84-79). Tristen McKay of Florence, SC finished in third place with a total of 167 (88-79). The boys showed maturity in dealing with the course’s many challenges.       Girls 14-18

Girls 14-18 Myrtle Beach

Koray Safak Jinangkul from Bangkok, Thailand is the Girls 14-18 champion. Jinangkul posted a 79 Saturday and followed that with a sensational 69 on Sunday for a two-day total of 148. Finishing in second was Danielle Buompastore of Hoover, AL who posted rounds of 83 and 82 to score a total of 165. Sae Sato from Tokyo, Japan finished in third place with a two-day total of 170 (82-88). The ladies enjoyed their experience with some great international competition.     Girls 13U

One Kashima of Tochigi, Japan is the Girls 13 and under champion. Kashima claimed the title after an 82 Saturday and a 76 Sunday for a two-day total of 158. Finishing second with a two-day total of 196 (97-99) was Madison Messimer of Myrtle Beach, SC. Finishing in third for the Girls 13 and under was Riley Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC who posted a total of 220 (112-108). The girls displayed tremendous fortitude while trekking through the difficult course layout.  Boys 10U

Boys 10u Myrtle Beach

Javier Santoloya of North Myrtle Beach, SC took home the first place trophy for the Boys 10 and under division. Santoloya posted a 74 Saturday and a 79 Sunday for an impressive two-day total of 153. Coming in second was Gavin Hutchinson of Myrtle Beach, SC who posted a 101 Saturday and a 94 Sunday for a two-day total of 195. These two boys did an excellent job this weekend, showing tremendous talent.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
