First place in the boys 16-18 division was William Tang from Hong Kong, China. Tang had an exceptional scorecard for the weekend. With two eagles on the weekend, he had a round 1 score of 72 and 67 in round 2. Tang finished with a total of 139 strokes taking home the win. This was his second tournament of the year and his first win. Newcomer to the HJGT, Packy Mokris places as our runner up honors. Mokris, from Winter Park FL, had five birdies on the weekend and a total score of 149. Finishing up top three honors, Oliver Pritchett from Haines City, FL brought in a total of 150 strokes.

In the boys 16-18 division, Benjamin Davenport from Bowling Green, KY finished the weekend as our champion. Davenport secured his victory after a playoff against Brody Sorrell from Evansville, IN. The players were neck and neck coming down the 18th fairway, after a tough break for Sorrell and an even shot from Davenport, they were forced to a playoff. Davenport took control of the playoff to the champion for the weekend. This was Davenport’s first HJGT tournament of 2023. Sorrell finished the weekend with a scorecard of 149 strokes. In round 1 he brought in a score of 75 and a 74 in round 2. Bo Shelton from Glasgow, KY finishes up the top three honors with a total score of 150 strokes for the weekend.

First place in the boys 16-18 division went to Caleb Cummings from Carrollton, GA. Cummings did an outstanding job on the course this past weekend and brought in his lowest HJGT touranment score. With five birdies on the weekend, he put up scores of 75 in round 1 and 72 in round 2. He was able to take the win 147 strokes. This win follows another first place win at the Invited Club Series #3 at Mirror Lake. The runner up honors went to Matthew Shim from Alpharetta, GA. Shim’s scores of 75 and 74 along with three birdies gave him a weekend total of 149 strokes. Oliver Bean from Chattanooga, TN and Josh Holman from Roswell, GA tied for the top three honors. Both players brought in impressive scores of 151 strokes.

Taking the lead in the boys 16-18 division was Sion Park from Westlake, OH. Park is an up-and-coming player on the tour and did a great job on the course this past weekend. With 11 birdies on the weekend, he brought in scores of 71 in round 1 and 73 in round 2. Sion secured the win with an even score of 144 strokes, his best score since joining earlier this year. The runner up honors went to Kai Carlson from Pittsburgh, PA. He put up scores of 70 and 77 totaling 147 strokes for the weekend. Kai has been playing with HJGT since 2019, this was his 19th Top 10 finish. Longtime HJGT player, Ryan Steigerwald from Mars, PA finishes up the top three honors with a total of 151 strokes. Steigerwald is currently within the Top 50 of HJGT point rankings.
