Longtime HJGT player, John Mark Mills from Pontotoc, MS was the first-place winner in the boys’ 16-18 division. Mills has been playing with the HJGT since 2020 and has placed in the Top 10 over 10 times. This weekend he was able to bring in scores of 77 in round 1 and 36 in round 2 for a combined score of 113 strokes. Andrew Dodgen from Huntsville, AL took home the runner up honors on the weekend, this was his first event of the year. With a score of 78 in round 1 and 37 in round 2, he ended the weekend with a final score of 115 strokes. Finishing up the top three honors, Caleb Cummings from Carrolton, GA with scores of 80 and 30, totaling 118 strokes.

Leading the boys 16-18 division was Davis Jungbluth from Saint Josephs, MO. Jungbluth brought in a fantastic scorecard for the weekend. With one eagle and six birdies, he brought in scores of 77 and 69. Jungbluth secured his first win of the year with a total score of 146 strokes. This was his lowest score so far this year. With a final score of 151, Noah Moberg took home the runner up honors on the weekend. Moberg, from Grimes, IA is an up-and-coming player on the tour, this was his third Top 3 finish of 2023. Dillon Jordan from Grimes, IA and Braden Kruger from Huxley, IA tied for the top three honors. Both players were able to bring in an impressive score of 156 strokes.

Taking the lead in the boys 16-18 division was Wyatt Hightower from Chapin, SC. Hightower did a great job in his first HJGT tournament. With nine birdies on the weekend, he brought in scores of 73 and 72. He took the first-place win with a final score of 145 strokes. Longtime HJGT player, Aiden Aguliar from Myrtle Beach, SC took home the runner-up honors. His scores of 75 and 72 gave him a total of 147 strokes. This follows a second-place finish at the Charlotte Summer Junior Open. Finishing up the top three honors was Hayden Campbell from Garner, NC with scores of 76 and 74, totaling 150 strokes.

This was both players’ first tournament with the HJGT and they did a great job on the course. Finishing up the top three honors was Owen Farley from St. Louis, MO in his first HJGT event of 2023. With one eagle and six birdies, he brought in a scorecard of 75 strokes.
