From January 27-28, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Charleston Kickoff at Wild Dunes. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format and with a field of six divisions, including Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls U13 Division.
Vaughn McMeans from Isle of Palms, SC was the first-place finisher of the Charleston Kickoff at Wild Dunes. McMeans shot 4-under par in the first round with 66, and 73 in round two, giving him a combined total of 1-under par 139 strokes. Bode King from Hartland, WI was the runner up. King scored 74 and 72, giving him a combined total of 146 strokes. Kittiphop Chantang from Muang, Thailand, and Andrew Kang from Seongnam-si, Republic of Korea were tied for third-place honors. Both scored 148 strokes, with Chantang and Kang both shooting 70 and 78 in rounds one and two.
Brayden Peeler from Pompano Beach, FL was the first-place finisher of the Boys 14-15 Division. Peeler scored 72 and 82, giving him a combined total of 154 strokes. Dexter James Jr. from Hudson, OH was the runner up. James shot 79 and 80, giving him a total of 159 strokes to finish the weekend. Rounding out the top three honors was Julius Lorimer from Indian land, SC. Lorimer shot 78 and 85, finishing the weekend with a combined total of 163 strokes.
Austin Abernathy from Murrells Inlet, SC was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Abernathy scored 71 and 82, giving him a combined total of 153 strokes. William Miller from Spartanburg, SC was the runner up. Miller shot 77 and 92, finishing the weekend with a combined total of 169 strokes.
Graham Hall from Mills River, NC was the first-place finisher of the Boys U10 Division. Hall scored 81 and 78, giving him a combined total of 159 strokes. Scout Nettles from Mt Pleasant, SC was the runner up. Nettles shot 79 and 81, finishing just one point behind the leader with 160 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was John Sanabria from Greenville, SC. Sanabria scored 85 and 92, giving him a combined total of 177 to finish the weekend.
Brooklynn Bohnert from Lanesville, IN was the first-place finisher of the Girls 14-18 Division. Bohnert scored 82 and 80, giving her a combined total of 162 strokes. McKenna Williams from Canton, NC was the runner up. Williams shot 88 and 92, giving her a total of 180 strokes. Caroline Morris from Charleston, SC rounded out the top three honors. Morris scored 99 and 101, giving her a combined total of 200 strokes to finish the weekend.
Jordan Hall from Mills River, NC was the first-place finisher of the Girls U13 Division. Hall scored 111 and 103, giving her a combined total of 214 strokes to finish the weekend.
