New Jersey Summer Junior Open

From June 18-19, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New Jersey Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

New Jersey Summer Junior Open

Elias Tamer Simon from Veracruz, Mexico was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tamer Simon brought in scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Kevin Lafond from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania tied for the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 82 for a combined total of 155. Miles Martin from Hopewell, New Jersey finished tied for the runner up honors with scores of 79 and 76 for a weekend total of 155.

New Jersey Summer Junior Open

Matthew Lu from Basking Ridge, New Jersey was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lu brought in scores of 80 and 74 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. William Kramer from Summit, New Jersey was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 79 for a combined total of 157. Hank Kancher from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 84 for a weekend total of 158.

Mehdi BenYoussef from Tunis, Tunisia was the first-place finisher this weekend. BenYoussef brought in scores of 80 and 78 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. Brady Cassidy from Gladstone, New Jersey was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 81 for a combined total of 164. Anthony Primo IV from Marlton, New Jersey finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 78 for a weekend total of 165.

Ava Svindland from Wilmington, Delaware was the first-place finisher this weekend. Svindland brought in scores of 79 and 84 for a combined total of 163 for the weekend. Isabelle Meltzer from Summit, New Jersey tied as the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 86 for a combined total of 166. Jessica Zhao from Basking Ridge, New Jersey finished tied for the runner up honors with scores of 85 and 81 for a weekend total of 166.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
