Hartford, CT Junior Open

From July 9-10, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Hartford, CT Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Hartford, CT Junior Open

Arav Tank from Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tank brought in scores of 74 and 70 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Eugenio Pelayo from Guadalajara, Mexico was the runner-up with scores of 78 and 73 for a combined total of 151. Kaylan Lecompte, from Guelph, Canada, Tony Novack, from Middleton, Massachusetts, and Robert Zyskowski III finihsed the top three honors with scores of 76 and 76, 76 and 76, and 78 and 74, respectively, for a weekend total of 152 each.

Yuavan Khubchandani from Greenbrae, California was the first-place finisher this weekend. Khubchandani brought in scores of 82 and 79 for a combined total of 161 for the weekend. Griffin Lawlor from Fairfield, Connecticut was the runner-up with scores of 86 and 82 for a combined total of 168.

John Louzan from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida was the first-place finisher this weekend. Louzan brought in scores of 81 and 82 for a combined total of 163 for the weekend. Joesph Louzan from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida was the runner up with scores of 87 and 88 for a combined total of 175.

Samantha Wang from Singapore, Singapore was the first-place finisher this weekend after beating Samantha Van Rohr, from Loudonville, Kentucky in a playoff match. Wang brought in scores of 74 and 75 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Van Rohr was the runner up this weekend with scores of 77 and 72 for a combined total of 149. Lucy Xi Lu from Vancouver, Canada finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 77 for a weekend total of 158.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
