Fort Myers Junior Open

From Febuary 4-5, 2023, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Fort Myers Junior Open The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Fort Myers Junior Open

Luke Kusserow from Highlands Ranch, CO was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kusserow brought in scores of 76 and 73 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. David Francati from Hellerup, Denmark was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 74 for a combined total of 151. Nathan Peji from Dunwoody, GA finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 75 for a weekend total of 156.

Boys 14-15

Hank Kancher from Philadelphia, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kancher brought in scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Stefano Cambruzzi from Santa Cruz, Bolivia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158. Russel Aide from Stirling, Canada finished the top three honors with scores of 89 and 74 for a weekend total of 163.

Owen Paoli from Parrish, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Paoli brought in scores of 85 and 76 for a combined total of 161 for the weekend. Brayden Kwiat from Naples, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 92 and 85 for a combined total of 177.

Fort Myers Junior Open

Lauren Hosier from Lakewood Ranch, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hosier brought in scores of 79 and 70 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Yui Iijima from Tokyo, Japan was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 73 for a combined total of 153.  Almina Erdogan from Istanbul, Turkey and Alexis Myers from Northbrook, IL tied to finish out the top three honors. Erdogan’s scores of 86 and 68 and Myers’ scores of 84 and 70 combined for a weekend total of 154 for each of them.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
