As the weekend came to an end, Summer Stroop from Arnold, MD stood proudly as the champion.
Stroop was able to take home the win by a single stroke in a close battle between her other competition Norah Middleton at College Prep Series at Stevenson University.

“It felt really great to win on this tour because it is a competitive field and challenging to win,” said Stroop after we asked how it felt to get her most recent win on the tour.
In the first round, Stroop had a sizable lead with an 81 and was able to keep the lead over Middleton who had shot an opening 88. In the second round of the tournament, it turned into a nail bitter as Stroop shot an 89 for the round and Middleton an 83. When the weekend came to a close, Stroop found herself on top shooting a total of 170 strokes for the weekend which is just one above Middleton’s 171!
When Stroop was asked about this close win, she expressed how she enjoys the competition that HJGT offers these young golfers. Stroop also told HJGT that the pace of play and how efficient HJGT is when it comes to getting tee times off is what is most enjoyable about the tour.
We wanted to know how Summer Stroop is preparing for these types of tournaments to secure the win like she did at Stevenson. Stroop told us, “I prepare for a tournament by cleaning my clubs the night before, watching a course overview if I can’t get in a practice round, getting plenty of sleep, and eating a good nourishing breakfast in the morning to power me through the round.”
What does the future hold for Stroop? Well, she just wants to go to a great college and try to explore educational opportunities. Since Summer is going into her senior year of high school, there is plenty of time to plan for her bright future. Stroop loves the game of golf and how it will “allow you to meet new people and learn from them each time you play.”
