Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for junior golf.
Bolt Ventures has acquired the Texas Junior Golf Tour (TJGT), one of the premier junior golf organizations in the country. Combined with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, this partnership will launch as a unified national platform in 2027 with a new brand, expanded opportunities, and an enhanced tournament experience for junior golfers across the U.S.
TJGT was the ideal fit — not just for its tournaments and footprint, but for its team. Craig Rosengarden and Travis Measly bring experience and values that align with ours: put the kids and the game first, and everything else follows. Keep the players happy, the parents happy, and the courses happy — that’s the business.
What We’re Doing Right Now
Over the past several months, we’ve listened carefully to your feedback and are already implementing meaningful changes:
- Weather communication — more timely, consistent updates during delays and suspensions
- Rules education — expanded USGA certification for tournament staff to ensure consistent application at every event
- Player hospitality — improved snacks and on-course amenities at select tournaments
- Operations — continued focus on pace of play, course setup consistency, and overall event execution
- Tour credit policy — re-evaluation as it pertains to inclement weather
What We’re Building Toward 2027
As we look ahead, a few areas are central to our vision:
- Path to College — better connections between our golfers and college coaches, with improved data and visibility on both sides
- Tournament Pricing — re-evaluating pricing relative to the overall value we deliver
- Better Venues — increased access to premier courses that challenge and inspire our players, giving them the experience of competing on exceptional layouts
- Unique Events — new and creative formats designed to let kids showcase their abilities, compete in different ways, and most importantly, have fun with the game
- Character Development — scores and scholarships are great, but golf’s greatest gift is what it teaches you about being a better person: perseverance, integrity, humility, resilience, sportsmanship. Attitude is everything.
- Community — in a world of screens and noise, golf is a chance to put the phone down, get outside with friends, and fall in love with a lifelong game.
The acquisition of TJGT strengthens our ability to invest in our players, our events, and our future. We’re building something bigger than any single tour — a platform designed to serve junior golfers at every stage of their development.
Thank you for your trust, support, and feedback. We look forward to sharing more about our 2027 vision in the months ahead.
Sincerely,
