The
Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight features Tennessee State
University Golf Athlete Shanren Brienen.
Shanren has
been an outstanding player not only on the HJGT tour, but at Florida Tech as well.
Prior
playing at Florida Tech, Shanren had some impressive results during her
high school career. Shanren was a seven-year letterwinner at the Master’s Academyand was named team captain for final four seasons while also receiving three-time school Athlete of the Month awards.
During
his high school career, Sam participated in a great number of HJGT
Tournaments, and consistently finished with great results. In 2014 Shanren earned his best finish on the HJGT tour winning both the College Prep Series at Clemson and the first Annual Team Challenge. In 2015 Shanren participated in 6 tournaments with us, earning his best finish at the Dayton Jr. Classic where he won second place.
At Florida Tech, Shanren competed in six tournaments as a freshman and finished fifth overall at the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Championship. He aldo posted a scoring average of 75.83 in 18 total rounds and was named to FIT Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
