College Prep Series at Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt Legends Club - South
At Vanderbilt Legends Club, balance wins. Zack Bourgeois proved it. The Quebec native posted matching rounds of 74-74 to finish at +6 (148), capturing the Boys 14–15 division at the College Prep Series at Vanderbilt with consistency across both days. There was no volatility in his scorecard. No collapse. No surge required. On a layout that demands precise approach angles and disciplined course management, Bourgeois kept the ball in the correct positions and avoided the kind of number that shifts momentum quickly. In this division, that steadiness created separation. Tate Sinfield-Day of Chattanooga finished second at +17 (159), opening with a solid 76 before the course tightened its grip Sunday. Connor Daniel secured third at +19 (161), while Valor Shough and Asher Ellis rounded out the top five. The scoring gap told the story. Vanderbilt Legends Club does not reward impatience. Greens feature subtle slopes that punish misreads. Approach shots must find the proper tier. Players who chased difficult pins paid the price late in rounds. Bourgeois never chased. In a field that represented Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Illinois, and Canada, he was the only player to maintain the same number across both days — a quiet but definitive statement. At a collegiate-caliber venue designed to prepare players for the next level, that kind of composure carries weight. This weekend, it belonged to Bourgeois.

Pinehurst Junior Open presented by Srixon
Learn More
Pinehurst Resort & Country Club - #5
At Pinehurst Resort, nothing is given. Every shot is negotiated. Every miss is exposed. Madex Swisher understood that. The Bennington, Kansas native opened the Pinehurst Junior Open presented by Srixon with a composed 73 and followed with a 78 to finish at +7 (151), controlling the Boys 14–15 division from start to finish. His opening-round 73 set the tone. On a layout where collection areas punish even slightly offline approaches, Swisher avoided the compounding mistakes that Pinehurst is known for creating. When others struggled to solve the greens, he kept the ball in manageable positions and trusted his process. Lochlann Collins of Connecticut made the biggest Sunday move in the field, firing a 76 after an opening 84 to secure second place at +16 (160). The comeback was notable — but Pinehurst rarely allows a full chase. Bret Wade finished third at +21 (165), followed by Mathis Mandeville at +24. From there, the separation widened. Double digits over par became common as the weekend wore on, a reflection of Pinehurst’s demand for precision rather than power. That’s the story of this venue. Miss in the wrong quadrant of the green, and recovery becomes a guessing game. Attack the wrong flag, and momentum disappears quickly. The Boys 14–15 division experienced exactly what makes Pinehurst a benchmark test: strategic discipline. Swisher didn’t overpower the course. He respected it. At a venue where patience often determines the winner, he stayed measured while others unraveled. The result was a nine-shot victory — not flashy, but definitive. Winning anywhere matters. Winning at Pinehurst carries weight. This weekend, Swisher carried it.

Palm Beach County Junior Open

The margin wasn’t wide. The scoring wasn’t easy. And at Village Golf Course, nothing came without work. Maximilian Landry didn’t overpower the field — he outlasted it. The Nassau, Bahamas native posted rounds of 79-80 to finish at +15 (159), navigating a weekend that demanded patience from start to finish. Village Golf Course has a way of tightening the field, and in the Boys 14–15 division, it became a test of emotional control as much as ball striking. Landry’s consistency proved decisive. While others surged and stalled, he avoided the big number. In a division where no player finished under par in either round, minimizing mistakes was the strategy — and Landry executed it better than anyone. Mervin Lee of Great Neck, New York made the strongest early statement, opening with a 76 — the low round of the tournament — before battling to an 85 on Sunday to finish at +17 (161). That first-round 76 showed the scoring potential was there, but Village doesn’t let players cruise. Every hole resets the pressure. Two players tied for third at +19 (163): Adrien Ellis of Penfield, New York and Palm Beach Gardens’ Tommy Morrissey. Both mirrored each other with 79-84 scorecards, staying within striking distance but unable to close the gap late. At +20, Tyler Ehlers and Hudson Vargas rounded out the top five, each showing flashes of control before the course demanded something back. The story of this division wasn’t fireworks. It was attrition. From Florida to New York to the Bahamas, players were forced to grind through narrow landing areas and guarded greens. Momentum rarely lasted more than a few holes. Those who chased too aggressively paid for it. Those who stayed disciplined remained in contention. Landry stayed disciplined. And in a tournament where conditions and course setup rewarded maturity beyond the age group, that discipline translated into a championship. The Palm Beach County Junior Open once again proved that at this level, talent matters — but composure wins.

54 Hole Fort Myers Junior Open
Learn More
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Boys 14–15 division at the 54-Hole Fort Myers Junior Open faced a rotating championship test across Cape Royal Golf Club’s King/Prince, King/Queen, and Prince/Queen combinations, where course management and adaptability proved decisive. Salem Al Abdallat of Jordan emerged as champion at 17-over-par 233, building his victory through early stability. Rounds of 76 and 73 positioned him atop the leaderboard after 36 holes. Though the final round produced an 84, the cushion established through two steady days held firm. Jack Sinnett of Missouri mounted a final-round charge with a closing 74 — the low round among the leaders on Sunday — to finish second at 239. His ability to rebound from a difficult middle round demonstrated resilience on a course rotation that punished inconsistency. Julian Bugara and Lucas Starr shared third at 240, each navigating fluctuating scoring conditions across three distinct routing setups. Aaron Che rounded out the top five at 241, remaining within striking distance throughout the championship. Cape Royal’s defining characteristic is decision-making under pressure. Water hazards frame key landing zones. Doglegs require precise positioning. Rotational course combinations altered sightlines and yardages daily, forcing competitors to recalibrate strategy round by round. The international presence remained a hallmark of the event, with competitors representing Jordan, Canada, and multiple U.S. states. The diversity of the field elevated the competitive environment and reinforced the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s global footprint. Over 54 holes, volatility surfaced quickly. The players who minimized compound mistakes and protected position separated themselves. The format once again validated its purpose — sustained performance over three days defines a champion. At Cape Royal Golf Club, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour delivered another championship built on endurance and adaptability. Salem Al Abdallat set the early standard — and over three rotating layouts, it proved enough to secure the title.
