NEW KENT, Va. — Ryan Totte secured the Boys 14–15 championship at the Richmond Junior Open after finishing with a two-day total of 14-over 158 at The Club at Viniterra.
Totte opened the tournament with a 77 and followed it with an 81 in the final round, maintaining his position at the top of the leaderboard to earn a seven-shot victory. His consistent play over both rounds proved to be the difference in a division where scoring conditions remained challenging throughout the weekend.
Hunter Vlahakis finished second at 21-over 165 after posting rounds of 81 and 84. Cole Hedrick placed third at 22-over 166 with rounds of 80 and 86, while Alexander Popescu finished fourth at 23-over 167.
Colton Rodenhaver rounded out the top five at 30-over 174, followed by Max Trudell in sixth at 32-over 176. Cole Hertzberg placed seventh at 35-over 179, Brady Albiston finished eighth at 37-over 181, and Connor Martin and Logan Studer completed the top ten.
The Boys 14–15 division showcased the competitive challenge presented by The Club at Viniterra, where disciplined shot-making and patience were essential across both rounds. Totte’s ability to manage the course and limit mistakes allowed him to separate from the field and claim the championship.

Hilton Head Junior Open

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Sebastian Trujillo put together the steadiest two-round performance in the Boys 14-15 division at the Hilton Head Junior Open, earning the title with a total of 10-over 154 at the Country Club of Hilton Head.
Trujillo opened with a 76 and returned with a 78 on Sunday, making him the only player in the division to break 80 in both rounds. That consistency was the difference. On a course that challenged the field across the weekend, Trujillo kept control of his tournament from start to finish and won by 21 shots.
Bennett Williams finished second at 31-over 175 after rounds of 89 and 86. Sebastian Cantrell and Sandy Jostyn shared third place at 42-over 186. Cantrell posted rounds of 94 and 92, while Jostyn opened with an 86 before closing with a 100.
The Boys 14-15 division became a test of stability more than anything else, and Trujillo was clearly the player who handled that test best. While scores climbed throughout the field, he stayed composed, avoided major mistakes, and separated himself with two solid rounds that never gave the rest of the division much of an opening.
His win added another strong championship performance to the weekend at the Country Club of Hilton Head, where the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour once again gave junior golfers the opportunity to compete on a course that demanded discipline and rewarded consistency.

The margin wasn’t decided in regulation.
It took extra holes at Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club, and Aaron Che delivered when it mattered most.
Che, representing Richmond, British Columbia, opened with a 76 before closing with a composed 75 to finish at +7 (151). Orlando’s Lucas Starr matched him stroke for stroke at 151, firing a final-round 73 to force a playoff.
Under pressure, Che converted.
The playoff victory capped a division defined by compressed scoring and minimal separation at the top. Mark O’Brien of Tampa finished just one shot back at +8 (152), while Julian Bugara and Luke Schneider tied for fourth at +9 (153).
Heritage Isles demanded patience across two days. Water comes into play on key approach shots, and the closing stretch forces players to commit to precise yardages into guarded greens. Aggression without discipline quickly turns costly.
Che avoided the mistake that often appears late in tight tournaments. He managed his round, stayed neutral emotionally, and executed when the format demanded clarity.
The leaderboard reflected HJGT’s global reach — Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, China, and multiple U.S. states represented — but in the end, the title came down to execution in overtime.
At Heritage Isles, composure under playoff pressure separates contenders from champions.
Aaron Che proved it.

College Prep Event at NC State

At Lonnie Poole Golf Course, the margin for error is thin.
Luke Langberg made it thinner for everyone else.
The Fairport, New York native posted rounds of 84-80 to finish at +20 (164), capturing the Boys 14–15 division at the College Prep Event at NC State on a layout that demands disciplined approach play and confident putting.
His Sunday 80 proved decisive.
Lonnie Poole’s elevated greens and tightly mown runoff areas punish misjudged yardages. Approach shots must land on the correct tier, and wind across the exposed property often alters club selection. Players who chased aggressive pins found difficult recoveries.
Langberg adjusted.
Baker Hartman finished second at +24 (168), while Townes Phillips closed with a strong 80 to secure third at +25 (169). After the top three, the scoring gap widened as the course continued to expose inconsistencies.
This wasn’t about low numbers.
It was about minimizing damage.
The College Prep Series format adds pressure — collegiate venue, championship presentation, and a course designed to mirror next-level competition. Langberg stayed composed across both rounds, avoided volatility, and improved when the conditions tightened.
At NC State, that discipline matters.
This weekend, it delivered a title.
