Stoneybrook West Golf Club
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — Samuel Metz put together the strongest overall performance in the Boys 14-15 division at the Stoneybrook Spring Break Junior Open, finishing at 9-over 153 to capture the title at Stoneybrook West Golf Club. Metz opened with a 75 and followed it with a 78 in the final round, making him the only player in the division to keep both rounds in the 70s. That consistency gave him full control of the championship and a five-shot margin of victory in a division where scoring proved difficult across both days. Gilberto Morales finished second at 14-over 158 after rounds of 80 and 78. Mason Etscorn and Parker Heaton shared third place at 17-over 161. Etscorn closed with a 78 after opening with an 83, while Heaton made one of the strongest moves of the division with a final-round 75 after an opening 86. Max Amitsis and Andrew Haas tied for fifth at 22-over 166. The Boys 14-15 division turned into a test of stability and second-round execution, and Metz handled both better than anyone in the field. While others made runs or recovered from difficult opening rounds, Metz controlled the tournament from the front by avoiding the kind of big swings that can open the door on a leaderboard. Augusto Perini finished seventh at 25-over 169, Cameron Benton placed eighth at 26-over 170, and Wally Whebbe took ninth at 27-over 171. Derek Zhu completed the top 10 at 28-over 172. Metz’s win added another composed championship effort to the weekend for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, as Stoneybrook West Golf Club continued to reward the players who managed the course, stayed patient, and delivered under pressure.

Bear's Best Golf Club - Bears Best
SUWANEE, Ga. — Joshua Hong delivered one of the strongest performances of the weekend at the Bears Best Junior Open, firing an even-par 72 in the final round to capture the Boys 14-15 title with a two-day total of 3-over 147 at Bear’s Best Golf Club. After opening with a 75, Hong closed with the low round of the division on Sunday and was the only player in the field to post an even-par round across the weekend. That final-round response gave him a six-shot victory and turned a competitive leaderboard into a decisive win. Beau Harrison finished second at 9-over 153 after rounds of 79 and 74, using one of the better closing rounds in the division to secure the runner-up spot. Colin Thoroman took third at 10-over 154 after opening with a 73, while Logan Scott placed fourth at 12-over 156. Vincent Lee rounded out the top five at 14-over 158. The Boys 14-15 division followed the same pattern seen throughout the weekend at Bear’s Best Golf Club: the course demanded control, exposed mistakes, and rewarded the players who stayed composed over 36 holes. Hong did exactly that. His final-round 72 stood apart on a leaderboard where most players saw scores rise, and it proved to be the defining performance of the division. Miles Rice finished sixth at 18-over 162, while Benjamin Lebensburger and Tendekai Nyandoro shared seventh place at 23-over 167. Michael Rockouski placed ninth at 30-over 174, and Grayson Thomson completed the top 10 at 31-over 175. Hong’s win added another standout moment to the weekend for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, as Bear’s Best once again provided a championship-level test that challenged every part of a player’s game. In the Boys 14-15 division, no one answered that challenge better than Hong.
