From April 6-7, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the North Jersey Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format and with a field of five divisions, including the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls U13 Division.
Eli Kaufman from Montville, NJ was the first-place finisher of the North Jersey Junior Open. Kaufman scored 69 and 73, giving him a combined total of 142 strokes. Will DesMarais from Chatham, NJ was the runner up, shooting 75 and 74 to finish with 149 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Dylan Kaufman from Montville, NJ. Kaufman scored 78 and 83, giving him a total of 151 strokes.
Axel Brandes from Bernardsville, NJ was the first-place finisher of the Boys 14-15 Division. Brandes scored 86 and 74, giving him a combined total of 160 strokes. Ryan Mascali from Rye, NY was the runner up, shooting 82 in both rounds to finish with 164 strokes. Daniel Kim from Franklin Lakes, NJ rounded out the top three honors. Kim scored 83 in both rounds, giving him a combined total of 166 strokes to finish the weekend.
Logan Turner from Berwyn, PA was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Turner scored 76 and 74, giving him a combined total of 150 strokes. Palmer Vetri from New York, NY was the runner up, shooting 81 and 76 to finish with 157 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Logan Stoney from Hillsborough, NJ. Stoney scored 78 and 80, giving him a combined total of 158 strokes.
Inha Jun from Edgewater, NJ was the first-place finisher of the Girls 14-18 Division. Jun scored 73 in both rounds, giving her a combined total of 146 strokes. Skylar Lee from Franklin Lakes, TN was the runner up, shooting 76 and 72 to finish with 148 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Jacqueline Zang from Princeton, NJ. Zang scored 78 and 72, giving her a combined total of 150 strokes.
Mila Patel from Westfield, NJ was the first-place finisher of the Girls U13 Division. Patel scored 79 and 77, giving her a combined total of 156 strokes. Taerin Lee from Jericho, NY was the runner up, shooting 83 and 84 to finish with 167 strokes. Rounding out the leaderboard was a tie between Mona Sun from Harding, NJ and Sara Sun from Harding, NJ. Both scored 173 strokes, with Mona shooting 88 and 85 while Sara shot 89 and 84.
