Player Spotlight: Pierce Grant

A 14-year-old from Lookout Mountain, Tennessee picked up a huge win at the Rome Junior Open at Stonebridge. In January, Pierce Grant played in the Palm Beach Junior Open shooting a 91 and a 98 to finish +45 for the weekend and placed ninth. But in March, there was a great improvement in his game. Grant went on to shoot an 83 and an 80 to end up only +19 for the weekend, claiming first place. That is a remarkable improvement in a little under 2 months.

Pierce Grant

This is Grant’s first season on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, and he is making great strides in his game. Before joining the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in January, Grant played on the SNEDS Tour based mostly out of Tennessee. On the SNEDS Tour, Grant played in 9 events over the course of two years. In all nine events, Grant placed in the top 25, and in eight of the events, he was top 10 – three of which he placed top 3. After Grant’s win in March, we had a chance to catch up with the young up-and-comer.
