Fairfax, Virginia’s Armaan Osterman is no stranger to the winner’s circle.
On Sunday, the Hurricane Tour veteran captured his fourth first-place finish at the Major Championship at Golden Horseshoe a couple hours south in Williamsburg.
Shooting a solid two-day total 152 (+8), Osterman cruised to victory by 9 strokes over Cooper Moskowitz of Middletown, MD.
When asked about his latest win, Osterman said, “It felt great to win and I was excited that I shot my personal best round in the tournament.”
In the opening round on Saturday, Osterman shot 82 and found himself 5 shots behind the leader in the clubhouse, Moskowitz. But the Virginian separated himself from the field on Sunday with 14 pars and 3 birdies in route to a 2-under par 70.
Future Plans
Osterman has been with the HJGT since 2020 and continues to shine. He said he enjoys the friendly staff that the tournaments are well-run and organized, which the organization takes pride in. Osterman made special mention of HJGT Tournament Directors Michaela Ball, Mike McCay, and Brett Ammons for their ongoing hospitality.
When it comes to practice, Osterman plays every day of the week before a tournament, including a practice round prior to the event to make sure his skills are sharp and he is ready to compete.
This past year, Osterman competed for his high school team, which finished the season undefeated and went onto win the Virginia state championship. He loves the game of golf and holds it close to his heart. He is grateful for the people he has met and the experiences that he has had because of the game. Looking into the future, Osterman has his sights set on playing in college and hopefully making it to the pros one day.
