It is a holiday weekend, which means it is time for a 54-hole weekend! What better way to spend a long weekend than on the links doing what you love? This weekend’s tournament will be in Florida, Alabama, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas. This weekend will bring intense competition across the country so buckle up for a preview of a big weekend.

Beautiful Golf Course

Fort Meyers Junior Open (FL)

Kicking off the weekend in Florida, the first tournament of the weekend is the Fort Meyers Junior Open. The course at the Cape Royal Golf Club is just a short drive from the beaches. Cape Royal features 27 holes of championship golf in Southwest Florida spread across a course design that is too good to miss! The gem in Southwest Florida lies near the Gulf of Mexico, which promises to bring warm temperatures for the weekend. Unfortunately, this weekend brings in the weather which is not fun. Both Saturday and Sunday are going to bring a decent amount of rain with Saturday bringing warmer conditions with a high of 78. Sunday, however, will cool off considerably with the high being 64. The last day of the tournament, Monday will bring a stop to the rain with a cloudy high of 66. There are a total of 65 competitors from all of the age brackets playing this weekend, so expect some heavy competition and rain if you’re traveling to Fort Meyers this weekend. Bring a good jacket and umbrella to South Florida.

Huntsville Junior Open (AL)

The next tournament brings us over to Alabama with the Huntsville Junior Open. The tournament will be played at the Huntsville Country Club in Huntsville, Alabama. The Huntsville Country Club is situated in the heart of Huntsville, Alabama, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle surrounding the Club. It is going to be a colder weekend in Huntsville this weekend. Saturday will have a high of 44 with a low of 22. Sunday will warm up and be sunny with a high of 51 and a low of 24. Monday will continue the warming pattern with a high of 58 and a low of 31. If you’re traveling to Huntsville this weekend, please pack warm and pack a thermos of hot chocolate, it is going to be very chilly. The 33 players this weekend across all divisions will be in for a challenging weekend with the weather, but I’m sure even Tiger Woods played in similar weather to this. Good luck to those 33 players this weekend, make sure you pack a beanie!

Orlando Junior Open (FL)

We come back to Florida and travel south to Orlando for the next tournament which is the Orlando Junior Open. The course, Rio Pinar Country Club, has a storied history of golf icons such as Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Julius Boros, and Hale Irwin all having claimed victory at the prestigious Florida Citrus Open. Well, my friends, while it may be a historic course, it’s going to be a wet one this weekend. Rain is expected to fall Saturday through Monday, but on the bright side, it will be slightly warm. Saturday promises to bring a high of 65 and a low of 55. Sunday will cool off a little with the high being 61 and the low being 51. Monday will still have some scattered showers, but they should tail off towards the afternoon. The temperature on Monday will be a high of 65 which should help dry out the course after a wet weekend. For all of you traveling to South Florida bring an umbrella and a rain jacket because the first two days will be wet.

Phoenix Junior Open (AZ)

Next, we travel to the desert of Arizona for the Phoenix Junior Open. The Francisco Grande Resort and Golf Club operates in beautiful sunny Phoenix. The Franciso Grande was owned by the owner of the San Francisco Giants who commissioned renowned golf course architect Ralph Plummer to create this beautiful course. Plummer’s remarkable ability to shape greens and bunkers by eye in a parkland setting makes the golf course unique in Arizona. The resort sits just 50 minutes south of the airport and outside of downtown to provide a great experience for our junior golfers. To all you golfers going out to Phoenix this weekend, pack lightly because boy will it be warm for a weekend in February. Saturday’s high will be 75 with a low of 51 and clouds hanging around most of the day. Sunday brings some nice sunshine with a high of 76 and a low of 52. To finish off the weekend, Monday will be more of the same with partly cloudy skies with a high of 78 and a low of 53. It is a full tournament this weekend with 61 golfers going down to Phoenix. So for you 61 golfers, and your parents, pack the sunscreen and shorts this weekend because it will be warm.

Raleigh Junior Open (NC)

Let’s stroll on over to the city of Oaks, Raleigh North Carolina for the Raleigh Junior Open. The course sits in the city of Clayton North Carolina and wow is it a nice course. The Neuse Country Club sits just southeast of downtown Raleigh and will provide a great weekend of golf. As for the weather, it looks to be a decent weekend in Clayton but will be a little chilly. Saturday will have a lot of clouds with a high of 50 and a low of 27. Sunday will also be mostly cloudy with a high of 51 and a low of 30. Saint Simons Junior Open (GA)

The scenic Saint Simons Junior Open is next on the list. Good luck trying to leave on Monday, because once see this place you won’t want to leave. The King and Prince Golf Club are hosting the tournament in Georgia this weekend and man is it scenic. This course is owned and operated by The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, this award-winning course is renowned for its challenging layout among ancient forests, salt marshes, dramatic island scenery, and a vast lake characteristic on the 9th hole overlooked by the comfortable Hampton Clubhouse. Some spotty weather this weekend in St. Simon’s, Saturday is looking like some light showers with a high of 62 and a low of 48. The rain will stop but the clouds will stay on Sunday with the temperatures dropping some with a high of 54 and a low of 40. Monday will be absolutely gorgeous with tons of sunshine and a high of 60 and a low of 42. Pretty full tournament this weekend with 55 golfers across all the divisions.
