HJGT, AdventHealth Partner To Provide Elite Care For Young Golfers

ORLANDO, Fla., March 20, 2024 — The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is proud to announce AdventHealth will provide care for participating athletes during the upcoming season.

AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab will serve as the tour’s official health care provider, bringing a range of services through its GolfPFX program to ensure athletes stay healthy and can compete at the highest level throughout the year.

“GolfPFX is the future of golf movement assessment and training,” said Scott Shepard, AdventHealth GolfPFX program manager. “The GolfPFX program is going to be an amazing asset to these athletes as they learn to take ownership of their health and wellness through custom fitness programs developed by our experts in golf fitness training.”

This revolutionary program is the first of its kind that focuses on targeting a golfer’s specific swing needs. And while general fitness improvement is important for an athlete’s overall health and wellness, traditional programs are unable to provide the specific stimulus needed to improve a golfer’s swing faults and optimally improve their performance.

“We can help you finally make changes to correct poor rotation and mobility, decrease pain, and improve swing speed/distance with targeted golf fitness and injury rehabilitation,” said Shepard.

“Partnering with AdventHealth and bringing their GolfPFX program to the Hurricane Tour is thrilling for our junior golfers and families,” said Rex Grayner, Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Vice President of Business Development. “Educating young, aspiring golfers about performance training and injury prevention is essential to their development, and this opportunity takes the Hurricane experience to new heights. That the program is led by 3x Golf Digest Top 50 Fitness Trainer and Sports Physical Therapist, Scott Shepard, makes this truly special. We are excited to add AdventHealth to our portfolio of partners, particularly the positive impact it will have on our players, and how this new added benefit supports our mission to be the standard in junior golf around the world.”

Based in Orlando, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers (boys and girls ages 8-18) an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment.
