HJGT Announces Revolutionary Partnership

Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and Junior Golf Hub Announce Ground-Breaking New Partnership

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) and Junior Golf Hub are excited to announce a ground-breaking and innovative partnership. The collaboration is designed to help junior golfers realize their dreams of playing golf in college by connecting digitally on a unique network created exclusively for student athletes, parents, and college golf coaches.

Founded in 2007, the Hurricane Tour has become the largest junior “grass roots” golf tour in the United States, hosting over 275 tournaments each year across 28 different states and six countries. In 2017, the HJGT announced a one-of-a-kind partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods, and musician/entertainer Justin Timberlake.  Junior Golf Hub is the premier online community for junior golfers, parents, and college coaches.

As part of the partnership, all HJGT members and their parents will receive access to Junior Golf Hub’s Premium service and the Hurricane Tour will be rebranded as Hurricane Junior Golf Tour powered by Junior Golf Hub. This innovative agreement will provide every HJGT member the tools they need to improve their chances of playing golf in college.

Playing golf in college is an important life decision that can be frustrating and complex, and junior golfers and parents often lack the knowledge and tools needed to guide them on the journey to the next level. Difficulties in navigating the process can make it hard to get recognized by college golf coaches and easy to make mistakes throughout the process.

Junior Golf Hub’s advanced, all-in-one suite of technology tools and education solves for these problems. The Hub allows members to build a compelling Profile to become a known entity to college golf coaches. In addition, the platform provides a gateway to explore college golf programs to find the right fit, the ability to “Ëœfollow’ programs of interest and have coaches “Ëœfollow’ back, an insider guide to the college golf recruiting process, and the ability to identify top junior golf tournaments and plan a winning tournament schedule.

In addition, the two partners plan on creating a new tournament series with special features including enhanced opportunities for players to be recognized by college golf coaches, education on the journey to college golf, and skill testing to assess readiness for college golf through the Player Development System (PDS), a science-based evaluation that gathers the hard data needed to determine whether an athlete is ready to progress to college golf.

“This partnership is a massive, ground-breaking initiative for the HJGT and all of its worldwide members,” said Mario Conte, Executive Director and Founder of the HJGT. “What the HJGT and Junior Golf Hub will do together to bring the best resources to junior golfers will be second to none, period!  My dream has always been to provide the best platform and to create a tour that has never been created before, and this partnership will be another step in that direction.”

“We are very excited to partner with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour,” remarked Junior Golf Hub’s Founder Roger Knick. “We believe this partnership is at the forefront of the industry in terms of advancing junior golf, and will provide the tools and education needed for Hurricane Tour members to reach their dreams of playing golf in college.”

Partnership changes including full rebranding of Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and enablement of Junior Golf Hub’s Premium membership for HJGT members are anticipated to take effect by January 2019.
