The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight is proud to feature Purdue University golfer, Lauren Guiao.
Lauren was a very accomplished junior golfer with the Hurricane Tour and made the most of her rounds at our College Prep Series events that were held at Purdue University.
Lauren was able to leave her mark on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in a few events during her time with the tour. Lauren started her dominant performances with the HJGT at the College Prep Series at Purdue in both 2015 and 2016. While playing the Birck Boilermaker GC in 2015, Lauren shot a remarkable 160 (83-77), earning her a 7 stroke victory. A year later, Lauren went back to Purdue to defend her title in a 54 hole event. Over these three days, Lauren shot a total 241 (87-79-75) to come away with a narrow victory over a packed field. Following her win at Purdue, Lauren finished tied for 4th place at the Amelia Lewis National Championship at Champions Gate CC. Lauren turned in an incredible performance with a 144 (71-73) to secure that 4th place finish in a field that consisted of 68 players who have previously placed in an HJGT event.
With victories in our College Prep Series events under her belt, Lauren proved her ability to master the course at Purdue University and make an impact in collegiate golf. Following her time on the HJGT, Lauren committed to play collegiate golf at Purdue University. During her freshman season, Lauren appeared in 8 events with the Purdue Women’s Golf team and posted her career-best performance at the 3M Augusta Invitational with a three-day total of 227.
