Eligibility for HJGT Boys 16-18 Division

Boys who range in ages 16-18 are eligible to participate in the HJGT Boys 16-18 division. A player’s age division is determined by his or her age during round two. A player may move up during the middle of the season. For example, if a player is 15 and turns 16 during the middle of the season, he will play the remainder of the season from the 16-18 division. Points do not roll over to another division. Players will be permitted to earn points in two age divisions.

Players that become officially enrolled and attending college are no longer eligible to compete in any division, regardless of age.

Angelo Rinaldi delivered a composed, wire-to-wire performance to capture the Boys 16-18 title at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Ohio Kickoff at the Lakes, finishing at 7-over-par (147) after rounds of 72 and 75 at The Lake Club. In challenging early-season conditions, Rinaldi separated himself through consistency, posting the only two-round total in the mid-70s both days. His steady play created a decisive margin, finishing seven strokes clear of the field. Michael “Mick” Ambrose secured solo second place at 14-over-par (154), highlighted by a closing round of 75, while Thomas Mankowski finished third at 15-over-par (155) with rounds of 78 and 77. Alexander Eckstein and Nathan Miller shared fourth place at 16-over-par (156), each navigating the demanding layout with balanced two-day performances. The final round saw movement throughout the leaderboard, with Matthew Morrone posting one of the lowest rounds of the day—a 2-over 74—to climb into eighth place at 19-over-par (159). Ethan Bobonski also rebounded with a 76 on Sunday, improving significantly from his opening round to finish inside the top 15. With elevated scoring conditions throughout the weekend, The Lake Club tested every aspect of the players’ games, rewarding those who maintained discipline and minimized mistakes. Rinaldi’s ability to stay consistent under pressure ultimately proved to be the difference, earning him the first-place finish to open the spring season in Ohio.

Jack Corcoran delivered a standout performance to capture the Boys 16-18 title at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s New Jersey Kickoff at Seaview, finishing at even-par (140) with rounds of 67 and 73 at Seaview Marriott Golf Resort. Corcoran set the tone early with a tournament-low 67 in the opening round, creating separation in a competitive field. Despite a tougher second round, he maintained control and secured a two-shot victory, finishing as the only player at even par or better for the event. Anthony Rzeszutko finished in solo second at 2-over-par (142) after rounds of 70 and 72, showing consistency across both days. Chase Andrews made a strong push with the low round of the final day, a 2-under 70, to claim third place at 3-over-par (143). Ty Sheftic finished fourth at 4-over-par (144), while Michael Bonczak rounded out the top five at 7-over-par (147), highlighted by an opening-round 68. David Ahn followed closely in sixth at 8-over-par (148), posting back-to-back rounds of 74. The leaderboard saw significant movement on Sunday, with Ravi Gohel recording one of the best rounds of the tournament, a 3-under 69, to climb into a tie for seventh at 10-over-par (150). Several players made late charges, but Corcoran’s opening-round advantage proved decisive. Played at Seaview Marriott Golf Resort, the event featured strong regional competition and tested players with a classic coastal layout that demands both shot-making and course management. Corcoran’s ability to capitalize early and maintain composure down the stretch ultimately secured the victory.
