From June 12-13, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Virginia Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.
Boys 16-18

John Bates from Chevy Chase, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Bates brought in scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Dell Grieser from Frederick, MD and Hayden Quinn from Leesburg, VA tied for runner up for the weekend. Both brought in scores of 76 and 74 for a combined total of 150.
Boys 14-15

Mason DuHaime from Potomac Falls, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. DuHaime brought in scores of 72 and 70 for a combined total of 142 for the weekend. Jacob Peel from Vienna, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 73 for a combined total of 152. Rua Kimotho from Fairfax, VA finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 82 for a weekend total of 159.
Boys 11-13

Jacob Holzer from Louisville, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Holzer brought in scores of 73 and 73 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Gavin Baker from Hedgesville, WV was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 76 for a combined total of 153. Lucas Erdman from Baldwin, MD finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 81 for a weekend total of 165.
Girls 14-18

Ann-Sophie Bourgault from Mont Tremblant, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Bourgault brought in scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Alexandra Mathis from Daniel Island, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 79 for a combined total of 157. Olivia Santiago from Flower Mound, TX finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 79 for a weekend total of 158.

Boys 10 Under

George Aoun from Bethesda, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Aoun brought in scores of 82 and 85 for a combined total of 167 for the weekend. Mark Mercer from Falls Church, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 86 for a combined total of 171.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
