Virginia Summer Junior Open

From June 11-12, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Virginia Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Virginia Summer Junior Open

Cameron Kapiskosky rom Huntingtown, Maryland was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kapiskosky brought in scores of 70 and 75 for a combined total of 145 for the weekend. Jai Agarwal from Lorton, Virginia was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150. Gage Bandy from Round Hill, Virginia finished the top three honors with scores of 80 and 74 for a weekend total of 154.

Declan Gustavson from Purcelville, Virginia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gustavson brought in scores of 81 and 78 for a combined total of 159 for the weekend. James Travers from Chevy Chase, Maryland was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 84 and 77 for a combined total of 161. Patrick Carl from Mount Airy, Maryland and Owen Moore from Bethesda, Maryland finished the top three honors with scores of 80 and 85, and 86 and 79, respectively, for a weekend total of 165.

Declan Daner from Cary, North Carolina was the first-place finisher this weekend. Daner brought in scores of 77 and 67 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Landon Rottman from Baltimore, Maryland was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 71 and 74 for a combined total of 145. Preston Devieux form Mountainside, New Jersey finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 75 for a weekend total of 152.

Audrey Yim from McLean, Virginia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Yim brought in scores of 82 and 81 for a combined total of 163 for the weekend. Caroline Zhou from Rockville, Maryland was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 82 and 85 for a combined total of 167. Leela Kenwood from Bethesda, Maryland finished the top three honors with scores of 90 and 81 for a weekend total of 171.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
