From March 4-5, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Tampa Bay Junior Open Presented by Perfect Hands Golf. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18
Gavin Clutts from Hazard, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hazard brought in scores of 74 and 67 for a combined total of 141 for the weekend. Grant Goslin from Tampa, FL and Maximus Haines from Odessa, FL tied to take the runner up honors for the weekend. Goslin’s scores of 72 and 77 and Haines’ scores of 71 and 78 tied for a combined total of 149. Max Govaerts from Weston, FL and Jackson Woroner from St. Petersburg, FL tied to finish out the top three honors for the weekend. Govaerts’ scores of 74 and 77 and Woroner’s scores of 81 and 70 tied for a combined score of 151.
Boys 14-15

Yuma Nemoto from Chiba, Japan was the first-place finisher this weekend. Nemoto brought in a score of 69 on both days for a combined total of 138 for the weekend. William Lisle from Bradenton, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 71 for a combined total of 148. Conor Whalen from Trinity, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 78 for a weekend total of 152.
Boys 11-13

Jose Carlos Lopez Lay from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lopez Lay brought in scores of 75 and 82 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Kayden Jae from Bradenton, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 77 for a combined total of 159. Owen Paoli from Parrish, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 80 for a weekend total of 164.
Girls 14-18

Gwendolyn Yarnall from East Aurora, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Yarnall brought in scores of 81 and 69 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Islamiya Abeldi from Almaty, Kazahkstan was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 74 for a combined total of 151. Yu Bai from Saratoga, CA finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 74 for a weekend total of 153.
Girls U13

Alessandra Carranza from Las Vegas, NV was the first-place finisher this weekend. Carranza brought in scores of 74 and 77 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Claudia Georgakis from Pymble, Australia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 84 for a combined total of 166. Myiah Davidson from Bradenton, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 89 and 87 for a weekend total of 176.
Boys 10 Under

Joseph Primo from Marlton, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Primo brought in scores of 100 and 108 for a combined total of 208 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
