From Saturday July 20ththrough Sunday July 21st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the LPGA Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Girl 13 and Under division.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Jonathan Lumley of Royesford, PA was able to take home first place honors after a final round 72. Lumley had a total of 147 strokes for the weekend to win by a one-shot margin over his closest competitor. Eric Zielasko of Germany and Kai Ze Ee of Singapore had first rounds of 74 on Saturday to finish at a total of 148 strokes and claim tie runner-up honors.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Daniel Olaya of Spain won the playoff against Ben Walker of Winter Park, FL in order to claim victory. Both players had weekend totals of 150 strokes to tie for first place, where Olaya came victorious. Rounding up the top three was Sebastian Barcia of Miami, FL with a weekend total of 157 strokes to finish with solo third place honors.
Ernie Els 11-13
Chenqi Wu of Bradenton, FL was able to seal his victory with a final round of 71 and a weekend total of 140 strokes. Wu made 9 birdies over the weekend to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Davis Downing of Windermere, FL shot a total of 152 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors with a final round 71. Rounding up the top-three was Nicholas Pisarski of Orlando, FL with a weekend total of 155 strokes to claim solo third-place honors.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Elise Schultz of Milton, FL claimed first place honors after shooting a last round 70 to win by a margin of 5 strokes over her closest competitor. Milton shot a total of 141 strokes and made 7 birdies over the weekend to win. Thitaporn Saithip of Bradenton, FL and Emily Odwin of Barbados shot totals of 144 strokes to claim runner-up honors and finish tied.
Justin Rose Girls U13
Victoria Renzi of Argentina claimed first place honors after shooting weekend rounds of 71 and 74 to win by a two shot margin over her closest competitor. Renzi had a weekend total of 145 strokes and 5 birdies over the weekend to win. Amelia Cobb of Jacksonville, FL had a total of 147 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors for the weekend with a final round 73. Rounding up our top-three was Chloe Chang of Sarasota, FL with a weekend total of 148 strokes and a final round of 75.
Boys 10 Under
Nicklaus Downing of Winter Garden, FL was able to seal his victory with a weekend total of 152 strokes. Downing had a final round 75 to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Giancarlo Aguirre of Peru claimed runner-up honors with a total of 168 shots for the weekend and round up the division.
