Long Island Junior Open

From April 30th to May 1st, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Long Island Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Long Island Junior Open

Elian Infante from Mississauga, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Infante brought in scores of 72 and 75 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. YiWen Wang from Scarsdale, NY was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 74 and 78 for a combined total of 152. Gavin Girard from East Setauket, NY finished with top three honors with scores of 75 and 78 for a weekend total of 152.

Long Island Junior Open

Colby Baran from Wading River, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Baran brought in scores of 84 and 77 for a combined total of 161 for the weekend. Gavin Fazal from East Northport, NY was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 85 and 86 for a combined total of 171. William Leon from New York, NY finished with top three honors with scores of 86 and 87 for a weekend total of 173.

Zachary Berger from Remsenburg, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Berger brought in scores of 83 and 71 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Kaiden Capurso from Bayport, NY was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 78 and 79 for a combined total of 157. Akash Agarwal from Manhasset, NY, and Quinn Brennan from West Hartford, CT tied for top three honors both with scores of 81 and 79 for a weekend total of 160 each.

Anna DeSanto from West Hartford, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. DeSanto brought in scores of 82 and 85 for a combined total of 167 for the weekend. Ella Coady from Southampton, NY was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 91 and 84 for a combined total of 175. Ella Girard from East Setauket, NY finished with top three honors with scores of 94 and 84 for a weekend total of 178.

Bradley Kim from Manhasset, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 81 and 89 for a combined total of 170 for the weekend. Luke Girard from East Setauket, NY, and Blake Zere from Ronkonkoma, NY tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 103 and 96, and 100 and 99, respectively, for a combined total of 199 each.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
