Cog Hill Junior Championship

From July 16-17, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Cog Hill Junior Championship. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Cog Hill Junior Championship

JJ Momper, from Indianapolis, Indiana was the first-placed finisher this weekend. Momper brought in scores of 71 and 71 for a combined total of 142 for the weekend. Charlie Henger, from Chicago, Illinois was the runner up with scores of 73 and 70 for a combined total of 143. Luke LaFond, from Green Bay, Wisconsin finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 73 for a weekend total of 145.

Boys 14-15

Mitchell Gawel, from Frankfort, Illinois was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gawel brought in scores of 85 and 83 for a combined total of 168 for the weekend. Caden Balcaitis, from Palos Heights, was the runner up with scores of 88 and 82 for a combined total of 170. Chase Staudacher, from Elburn, Illinois finished the top three honors with scores of 88 and 85 for a weekend total of 173.

Raunak Wadhera, from Lake Forest, Illinois was the first-place finisher this weekend. Wadhera brought in scores of 83 and 83 for a combined total of 166 for the weekend. Zeidan (Zee) Rowe, from Chicago, Illinois was the runner up with scores of 102 and 93 for a combined total of 195. Colin Biebel from La Grange, Illinois finished the top three honors withs cores of 103 and 95 for a weekend total of 198.

Zell Wilson, from Chicago, Illinois was the first-place finisher this weekend. Wilson brought in scores of 78 and 79 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Madelyn Kwiat, from Tinley Park, Illinois was the runner up with scores of 81 and 80 for a combined total of 161. Jessica Velent, from Buffalo Grove, Illinois finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 84 for a weekend total of 168.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
