Charleston Junior Open

From October 29-30, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Charleston Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Charleston Junior Open

Logan Lutz from Mount Pleasant was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lutz brought in scores of 70 and 71 for a combined total of 141 for the weekend. Miles Martin from Titusville, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 72 for a combined total of 150. Joseph Agee from Cookeville, TN finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 83 for a weekend total of 155.

Samuel Pelsnik from Charleston, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Pelsnik brought in scores of 80 and 82 for a combined total of 162 for the weekend. Jamen Sanders from Goose Creek, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 81 for a combined total of 163. Chase Whittle from Charleston, SC finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 82 for a weekend total of 169.

Reed Cook from Mount Pleasant, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cook brought in scores of 78 and 76 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Merritt Mathesius from Bristol, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 81 for a combined total of 166. Reid Davis from Charleston, SC finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 86 for a weekend total of 168.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
