From February 18-20, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Hole Texas Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Grant Yerger from Austin, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Yerger brought in scores of 69, 70, and 67 for a combined total of 206 for the weekend. Jack Newton from Littleton, CO was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71, 76, and 76 for a combined total of 223. Nick Nickloy from Olathe, KS and Beau Petersen from Gretna, NE tied for the top three honors this weekend. Nickoly finished with scores of 79, 73, and 73 for a weekend total of 225. Petersen rounded out the weekend with scores of 76, 78, and 71 for a total of 225.
Boys 14-15

Gavin Hymer from San Antonio, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hymer brought in scores of 74, 77, and 75 for a combined total of 226 for the weekend. Cameron Lewis from Dallas, TX was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77, 76, and 79 for a combined total of 232. Luke Newton from Littleton, CO finished the top three honors with scores of 85, 98, and 88 for a weekend total of 271.
Boys 11-13

Brady Ahlfors from Boerne, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ahlfors brought in scores of 76, 72, and 72 for a combined total of 220 for the weekend. Leo Hong from Lincoln, NE was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73, 82, and 77 for a combined total of 232. Asher Alfors from Boerne, TX finished the top three honors with scores of 80, 84, and 77 for a weekend total of 241.
Girls 14-18

Lindsay Kneer from Round Rock,, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kneer brought in scores of 68, 73, and 70 for a combined total of 211 for the weekend. Marley Pedrique from West Palm Beach, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71, 71, and 70 for a combined total of 212. Tessa Ion from Calgary, Canada finished the top three honors with scores of 74, 74, and 68 for a weekend total of 216.
Girls U13

Dixie Mae Crain from SpringTowm, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Crain brought in scores of 71, 72, and 68 for a combined total of 211 for the weekend. Veronika Germain from Houston, TX and Aleah Shields-Rodipe from Spring, TX tied for runner up for the weekend. Germain had scores of 71, 80, and 70 and Shields-Rodipe had scores of 71, 77, and 73 for them both to finish with a combined total of 221 Ava Frazier from Round Rock, TX finished the top three honors with scores of 71, 77, and 81 for a weekend total of 229.
Boys 10 Under

Texas Terry from Lexington, TX was the first-place finisher this weekend. Terry brought in scores of 76, 72, and 71 for a combined total of 219 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
