Winter Garden Junior Open
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The Winter Garden Junior Open brought together a field of international standouts and rising American talent to Stoneybrook West Golf Club on November 8–9, 2025, for a weekend defined by windy fairways, fast greens, and poised performances across every division. The challenging layout rewarded patience and punished mistakes, setting the stage for several impressive victories that highlighted the global reach of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.
In the Boys 16–18 Division, Germany’s Florian Jakubke delivered two days of composed, steady golf to claim the title at five-over-par (149). Jakubke posted rounds of 74 and 75, holding off a pair of determined challengers in Jayden Jae of Bradenton, Florida, and Jason Johnson of Innsbruck, Barbados, who both finished at seven-over (151). Local favorite Brady Durkin of Winter Garden finished close behind at 152, and Wyatt Bliss of Orlando rounded out the top five at 154. Jakubke’s consistency from tee to green made the difference in a deep field that featured players from eight different countries.
The Boys 14–15 Division saw another international triumph as Mohammed Alrawashdeh of Jerash, Jordan, captured the win with matching rounds of 75 for a total of six-over-par (150). His precision and control kept him clear of Aaron Che of Richmond, British Columbia, who finished four shots back at 154, and fellow Jordanian Salem Al Abdallat, who claimed third at 155. China’s Nanxi Ren and Kansas native Aidan Truong rounded out the top finishers.
In the Boys 12–13 Division, Zain Sadiq of Sanford, Florida, rose to the moment with a strong closing round of 82 to finish at +27 (171), securing a hard-fought victory through smart course management and steady putting under Sunday’s gusty conditions.
On the girls’ side, Alexandra Botsis of Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada, delivered one of the weekend’s most polished performances, firing rounds of 74 and 75 to finish at five-over-par (149) and claim the Girls 14–18 crown. Veronika Niklin of Staten Island, New York, made a late charge with a final-round 75 to take second at 156, followed by Krisana Fenton of Bradenton, Florida, in third at 159. Emma Sanabria of Orlando and Violet Weber of St. Augustine tied for fourth at 160, as the division showcased elite play from competitors representing the United States, Canada, Korea, Germany, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
