Odessa, FL – January 27, 2025 – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour kicked off an exhilarating weekend of competition with the Tampa Bay Winter Junior Open, held January 25-26 at The Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, FL. Junior golfers from across the globe brought their A-game to this prestigious two-day tournament, competing across four divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 10-11, and Girls 14-18.
Amine El Omari from Tampa, FL, emerged victorious after a thrilling one-hole playoff, finishing tied at the top with Matthew Simpson of Toronto, Canada. El Omari carded rounds of 73 on Day 1 and 80 on Day 2 for a total of 153. Simpson matched the total with scores of 76 on Day 1 and 77 on Day 2 but fell just short in the playoff. Jace Jenkins from Gainesville, FL, claimed third place with rounds of 73 on Day 1 and 83 on Day 2, finishing at 156
James Liang from Hong Kong, China, clinched first place in an exciting two-hole playoff, tying with Diego Downs of Panama, Panama. Liang recorded rounds of 83 on Day 1 and 87 on Day 2, while Downs posted consistent scores of 85 on both days, each finishing at 170. Tyler Vincelli from Prior Lake, MN, rounded out the top three with scores of 88 on Day 1 and 84 on Day 2, for a total of 172.
Bear Sullivan from Fort Worth, TX, finished in first place, delivering an outstanding performance with scores of 80 on Day 1 and 75 on Day 2, for a total of 155. Mason Fulgencio from Tampa, FL, took second place, scoring 101 on Day 1 and 92 on Day 2, for a total of 193.
Anna Machamer from Canal Winchester, OH, claimed first place with remarkable consistency, carding identical scores of 82 on Day 1 and Day 2, for a total of 164. Leila El Omari from Wesley Chapel, FL, and Sofia Lee from Saint Petersburg, FL, tied for second place, with El Omari posting scores of 87 on Day 1 and 79 on Day 2, while Lee recorded 84 on Day 1 and 82 on Day 2, both finishing at 166.
