From March 2-3, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Tampa Bay Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format and with a field of five divisions, including the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division and Girls 14-18 Division.
Clark Mason from St. Petersburg, FL was the first-place finisher of the Boys 16-18 Division. Mason shot an impressive 4- under par 68 in the first round and 75 in the second to give him a combined total of 1-under par, 143 strokes. Carter Boynton from Wesley Chapel, FL and Andrew Marcotte from Hanover, MA were tied for the runner up position. Both scored 148 strokes, with Boynton shooting 75 and 73 while Marcotte shot 74 in both rounds.
Tien Do from Tampa, FL was the first-place finisher of the Tampa Bay Junior Open. Do scored 72 in round one and 4-under par 68 in round two, giving him a combined total of 4-under par, 140 strokes. Henry Wang from Lakewood Ranch, FL was the runner up. Wang shot 82 and 76, finishing the weekend with 158 strokes. Sean Hachmann from Aldie, VA and Owen Paoli from Parrish, FL tied for third-place honors. Both scored 160 strokes, with Hachmann shooting 82 and 78 while Paoli shot 81 and 79.
David Cochran from Tampa, FL was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Cochran scored 75 and 74, giving him a combined total of 149 strokes. Hudson Murray from Bradenton, FL was the runner up. Murray shot 76 and 74, just one point behind the lead with 150 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Mingyao “Chris” Yang from Bradenton, FL. Yang scored 80 and 74, giving him a combined total of 154 strokes.
Parker Campbell from Sarasota, FL was the first-place finisher of the Boys U10 Division. Campbell scored 78 and 76, giving him a combined total of 154 strokes. Mack Wong from St. Petersburg, FL was the runner up. Wong shot 87 and 80, giving him a total of 167 strokes. Brody Monk from Dade City, FL rounded out the top three honors. Monk scored 87 and 84, giving him a combined total of 171 strokes to finish the weekend.
Natalie Catapano from Pacific Palisades, CA was the first-place finisher of the Girls 14-18 Division. Catapano scored 76 in both rounds, giving her a combined total of 152 strokes. Sarah Wicks from Tampa, FL was the runner up. Wicks shot 78 and 77, finishing with 155 strokes. Hilla Dries from Wesley Chapel, FL and Willda Kuang from Lakewood Ranch, FL were tied for third-place honors. Both scored 161 strokes, with Dries shooting 82 and 79 while Kuang shot 81 and 80.
