NOTRE DAME – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course from July 5-6. Boys and girls traveled from around the globe to participate in the 36-hole tournament. The event had four divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13 and Girls 14-18.
boys 16-18
Max Vanoy from Newark, OH finished in first place in the boys 16-18 division. With a total of eight birdies, he scored a 75 in round 1 and 73 in round 2. His total for the tournament was 148 strokes. Vanoy has played in 10 HJGT tournaments and placed in the Top 10 in seven of them. In his first tournament, TJ Quinn took home the runner up honors. Quinn, from Shorewood, IL brought in scores of 78 and 72 totaling 150 strokes for the tournament. In a tie for the top three honors was Joey Borsodi from Granger, IN and Jack O’Connor from Freehold, NJ. Both players did a fantastic job bringing in a final score of 151.

boys 14-15
In the boys 14-15 division. Jack Zeiger from Chicago, IL was our first place winner. His scores of 77 in round 1 and 80 in round 2 gave him a final score of 157. This is Jack’s fourth Top 2 finish of the year, he is currently in the Top 15 of HJGT point rankings. The runner up honors went to Hudson Kelahear from Etobicoke, Canada. This was his first HJGT tournament, he did a great job and put up scores of 79 and 83. Kelahear finished the tournament with a final score of 162. With a final score of 164, Tate Guyton from Niles, MI finishes up in the top three honors.

boys 11-13
Leading the boys 11-13 division was Andrew Perry from Winchester, KY. With a total of five birdies, he brought in scores of 76 and 81. Andrew took the first place win with a total of 157 strokes. This was his first win of the year and he is in the Top 50 of HJGT point rankings. Zach Lederer from Toronto, Canada places as the runner up honors for the week. His scores of 88 in round 1 and 76 in round 2 gave him a combined score of 164. Zach is new to the HJGT and his next tournament will be the Summer College Prep Series at Penn State #2. In a tie for the top three honors was Anthony Beteta from Windermere, FL and Brendan Gibson from Columbia, IL, both with a final score of 166.

girls 14-18
Longtime HJGT player and frequent first place finisher Mya Morgan from Elizabeth, PA took home the win for the girls 14-18 division. With a final score of 153 along with five birdies, she received her second win of the year and her 10th win overall. The runner up honors went to Diya Brar from Seattle, WA. Brar had one eagle and four birdies along with scores of 73 and 81 for a total of 154 strokes. Caroline Zeiger from New Albany, OH brought in her lowest score so far this year to place in the top three honors. She had a round 1 score of 81 and 75 for round 2 totaling 156 strokes.
