From December, 30-31, 2023 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Southwest Season Opener at Talking Stick. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.
Jackson Beige from Omaha, NE was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Beige brought in scores of 76 and 66 for a weekend total of 138 strokes. Parker Baggins from Olathe, KS and Brennan Wiscombe from Phoenix, AZ tied for the runner-up honors. Boggins finished the weekend with scores of 72 and 69 for a weekend total of 141 strokes. Wiscombe finished the weekend with scores of 71 and 70 for a total of 141 strokes.
Jack Langbein from Paradise Valley, AZ was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Langbein finished the weekend with consistent scores of 74 for a final total of 148 strokes. Drake Card from Hudson, WI was the runner-up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 73 for a final total of 151 strokes. Luke Duval from Scottsdale, AZ rounded out the top three honors with scores of 77 and 75 for a weekend total of 152 strokes.
Maxwell Milton from Poison, MT was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Milton brought in scores of 71 and 69 for a weekend total of 140 strokes, 4 under par. Sam Meltzer from Paradise Valley, AZ was the runner-up for the weekend with scores of 69 and 76 for a total of 145 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Lincoln Williams from Mesa, AZ. Williams finished the weekend with scores of 78 and 72 for a final score of 150 strokes.
Joey Morin from Gilbert, AZ was the first-place finisher for the Boys Under 10 division. Morin brought in scores of 82 an 80 for a weekend total of 162 strokes.
Anne Yost from Farmington, NM was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Yost brought in scores of 72 and 74 for a final total of 146 strokes. Addison Hines from Arvada, CO was the runner-up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 74. Hines finished the weekend with a final total of 147 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Eliza Meltzer from Paradise Valley, AZ. Meltzer finished the weekend with scores of 76 and 72 for a final total of 148 strokes.
