ST. AUGUSTINE – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Southeast Regional Invitational presented by Short Par 4 at the World Golf Village from August 4-5. Boys and girls traveled from all over the country to participate in the 36-hole tournament. The event had six divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18 and Girls U13.
boys 16-18
Taking the lead in the boys 16-18 division was Jackson Woroner from St. Petersburg, FL. Woroner brought in an exceptional scorecard for the weekend with his lowest score so far this year. With six birdies on the weekend, he brought in scores of 73 in round 1 and 75 in round 2. Woroner finished the tournament with a total of 148 strokes. This was his fifth Top 10 finish of the year. Keegan Farmer from Greenwood, SC took home the runner-up honors on the weekend. Farmer brought in one eagle, five birdies and scores of 76 and 74 for a combined score of 150 strokes. Currently, he is ranked in the Top 15 players of the HJGT point rankings. Finishing up the top three honors was Max Schmied from Orlando, FL with a scorecard of 151 strokes.

boys 14-15
In the boys 14-15 division, Nolan DeForest from Crystal River, FL took home the first-place win. With eight birdies on the weekend, he brought in a round 1 score of 77 and a round 2 score of 71. DeForest finished the weekend with 148 strokes to take the champion title. DeForest has been playing with the HJGT since 2022 and has placed in the Top 10 seven times. The runner-up honors went to Jordan Paulshock from Wesley Chapel, FL. Paulshock’s scores of 78 and 71 gave him a combined score of 149 strokes. This follows a fantastic first-place finish at the Mid-Season Invitational at Reunion Presented by Bag Boy. Finishing up the top three honors was Tien Do from Tampa, FL with scores of 80 and 72 for a total of 152 strokes.

boys 11-13
Noa Bridges played in his first HGJT tournament of the year and placed first in the boys 11-13 division. Bridges, from Ponte Vedra, FL did a great job on the course this past weekend. Bridges brought in one eagle, two birdies and scores of 80 and 75 for a weekend total of 155 strokes. Nico Vasto from Jacksonville, FL took home the runner-up honors on the weekend. In round 1 he had a score of 78 with one birdie and in round 2 he brought in a score of 80, ending the weekend with a score of 158. Jad Mourine from Paris, France finishes up the top three honors with a scorecard of 166 strokes.

boys 10 & under
Newcomer to the HJGT, Cash Hodges from Douglas, GA was crowned champion of the boys under 10 division. With a score of 87 in round 1 and a score of 89 in round 2, he was able to secure the victory with a total of 176 strokes. This was his second event of 2023 and his first win. The runner-up honors went to Zayle Torres from Sanford, FL with a scorecard of 192 strokes. This follows a second-place finish at the Mid-Season Invitational at Reunion Presented by Bag Boy.

girls 14-18
Noha Ghadi from Rabat, Morocco was the first-place finisher in the girls 14-18 division. Ghadi brought in a fantastic scorecard for the weekend. With six birdies, she brought in scores of 73 and 77. She took the victory with a final score of 150 strokes. This was her sixth Top 3 finish of the year. Fiona Clancy from St. Augustine, FL took home the runner-up honors on the weekend. Bringing in a round 1 score of 77 with 3 birdies and a round 2 score of 76 with two birdies, she finished the tournament with a scorecard of 153 strokes. Finishing up the top three honors was Kate Cost from Crane Hill, AL. Cost brought in six birdies and scores of 78 and 76, totaling 154 strokes.

girls 13 & under
To finish off a great weekend, Camiryn Jackson from Altamonte Springs, FL was the first-place winner in the girls under 13 division. Jackson has been playing with the HJGT since 2022, she’s played in five tournaments and placed first in four of them. This weekend she was able to take the win with a scorecard of 145 strokes. Arley Jennings from Spartanburg, SC took home the runner-up honors on the weekend. Her scores of 74 in round 1 and 79 in round 2 gave her a weekend total of 153 strokes.
