Phoenix, AZ – January 27, 2025 – This past weekend, January 25-26, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
brought the excitement of junior golf to the scenic Briarwood Country Club in Sun City West, AZ, for the
Phoenix Winter Junior Open. Over two thrilling days of competition, junior golfers showcased their
skills and determination across five divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 12-13, Girls 14-18, and
Girls Under 13
Jack Langbein from Paradise Valley, AZ, finished in first place with a stellar performance, scoring 73 on Day 1 and 75 on Day 2, for a combined total of 148. His consistency and focus set the tone for the
division. Ben Appelhof from Blaine, MN, secured second place, scoring 75 on Day 1 and 77 on Day 2, with a total of 152. Jack Dahlem from Cary, IL, completed the top three, posting 78 on Day 1 and 75 on Day 2, finishing at 153.
Oliver Theel from Lakeville, MN, powered through the competition to finish in first place, scoring an impressive 71 on Day 1 and 84 on Day 2, for a total of 155. Boden Eacret from Sandpoint, ID, claimed the runner-up position, scoring 85 on Day 1 and 83 on Day 2, with a total of 168. Andrew DeGrassi from Brighton, CO, rounded out the top three, with scores of 77 on Day 1 and 100 on Day 2, for a total of 177
Izzy McGlone from Chandler, AZ, dazzled on the course to secure first place, posting scores of 81 on Day 1 and 83 on Day 2, for a total of 164. Alara Safa from Gilbert, AZ, took second place, scoring 98 on Day 1 and 96 on Day 2 with a total of 194.
Penelope Philip from Brentwood, TN, showcased her exceptional talent, finishing in first place with scores of 89 on Day 1 and an impressive 82 on Day 2, for a total of 171.
