2022 Philadelphia Summer Junior Open
From June 25-26, 2022,the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Philadelphia Summer Junior Open. Thetournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions thatincluded the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, BoysUnder 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 10 Division.

John Stevenson from Ambler, Pennsylvania was the first-place finisher this weekend. Stevenson brought in scores of 71 and 77 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Elias Tamer Simon from Veracruz, Mexico was the runner up this weekend with scores of 75 and 83 for a combined total of 158. Michael G Henry from Wayne, Pennsylvania finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 78 for a weekend total of 159.

Newcomer to the HJGT, Chase Yenser from Douglasville, GA takes home the win in the boys 14-15 division. With four birdies on the weekend, he had scores of 72 and 78. Yenser finished the weekend with a total of 150 strokes. This was his second tournament of the year and his first win. With a final score of 151, Anestis Kalderemtzis places as our runner up honors for the weekend. Kalderemtzis, from Glen Mills, PA has played in three HJGT tournaments and placed Top 3 each time. He is currently within the Top 30 of HJGT point rankings. Tied up for the top three honors was Declan Conner from Swarthmore, PA and Armaan Osterman from Fairfax, VA. Both players were able to bring in impressive scores of 156 strokes.

Leading the boys 11-13 division was Sebastian Park from Landsdale, PA. This was Park’s second HJGT tournament of the year and he did an outstanding job on the course. With two birdies on the weekend, he had scores of 88 and 86. He was able to take the win with a total of 174 strokes. The runner up honors went to Ethan Clouser from Newton, PA with a final score of 176. This was Clouser’s first Top 3 finish of the year.

girls 14-18
To finish off a great weekend, Naaz Mehta from Newton, PA was crowned champion of the girls 14-18 division. Naaz is a newcomer to the HJGT, this was her second tournament of the year and her first win. With a round 1 score of 85 and round 2 of 77 she finished the weekend with a total of 162 strokes. The runner up honors went to Makayla Stone from Garnet Valley, PA, she finished the weekend with scores of 83 and 81 totaling 164 strokes. Ava Hneleski from Springfield, PA finishes up the top three honors with scores of 83 and 84 for a toal of 167 strokes.
