LBI National Golf and Resort
Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ — October 25–26, 2025 The New Jersey Fall Junior Open at LBI National Golf & Resort brought a dramatic close to the Garden State’s fall schedule on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, as challenging coastal winds and firm greens tested every facet of each competitor’s game. When the final putt dropped, it was Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, who stood atop the leaderboard with a composed two-day total of +4 (74–74–148) to claim the championship. Whitney showcased remarkable consistency throughout the weekend, handling the demanding par fours with precision and avoiding the costly mistakes that plagued much of the field. His even-tempered play under pressure proved the difference, as he held off a hard-charging PJ Foley of Northfield, NJ, who finished runner-up at +8 (73–79–152). Foley’s opening-round 73 kept him in contention early, but a tough stretch on the back nine Sunday gave Whitney the cushion he needed to close out the victory. Franklin Matichak of Collegeville, PA, rounded out the top three at +10 (74–80–154), while Michael Bonczak of Fort Washington, PA, followed close behind at +11 (72–83–155). Trevor Sieben of Medford, NJ, completed the top five with back-to-back 78s for a total of +12 (156), maintaining consistency despite fluctuating winds off the Jersey coast. One of the most impressive turnarounds of the weekend came from Drake Brogan of Ocean View, NJ, who posted a second-round 69, the lowest score of the entire event. After opening with an 88, Brogan’s bounce-back round vaulted him up the leaderboard to a sixth-place finish at +13 (157) — a statement performance that turned heads on Sunday. The weekend’s leaderboard was a reflection of the depth and grit within the HJGT field, with competitors from across the Mid-Atlantic showcasing both talent and resilience. As the final HJGT event in New Jersey for 2025, the Fall Junior Open at LBI National delivered everything fans and families could hope for — pressure-packed golf, emerging stars, and a thrilling finish that capped off another memorable season in the Garden State.

Learn More
Brainerd, MN — October 25–26, 2025 The Minnesota Season Finale at Legacy, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, delivered a weekend of crisp autumn air, firm fairways, and high-caliber competition as some of the Midwest’s most talented juniors closed out the season in dramatic fashion at The Legacy Golf Course. Leading the charge was Isa Khan of Saint Paul, Minnesota, who captured the championship with a commanding performance that mixed power with poise. Khan opened with a brilliant 67, giving himself early breathing room, then held off a hard-charging field on Sunday with a steady 73 to finish at -4 (140) — the only player to go under par for the tournament. His all-around game, marked by confident putting and control off the tee, made him the clear standout in a strong 16–18 division. Close behind, Jake Palen of Eagan, MN, and Ryder Rose of Edina, MN, tied for second at -1 (143) after making late pushes down the stretch. Rose’s final-round 69 was one of the best rounds of the event, while Palen’s consistency over both days showed the kind of calm presence that makes him a player to watch heading into next season. The leaderboard remained tight throughout, with Benjamin Freshwater of Maple Grove finishing fourth at +2 (146) and Darren Steward of Northfield rounding out the top five at +3 (147). The field behind them remained packed with talent, as players like Easton Fiddle of Hugo and Charlie Dean of Hopkins both posted strong top-10 finishes, while steady rounds from Maxwell Munoz, David Bauer, and George Heinen highlighted the event’s depth of competition. As the sun set on the Minnesota Season Finale, Khan’s victory symbolized not just an individual triumph, but the spirit of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour — where competition meets growth, and every swing is a step toward the next level. The weekend at The Legacy capped off another successful season of Midwest golf, leaving both players and fans eager for what’s next on the HJGT circuit.

Totteridge Club
Greensburg, PA — October 25–26, 2025 The Pittsburgh Fall Junior Open at Totteridge Club, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, brought Pennsylvania’s top junior golfers together for a weekend of fierce competition, changing fall weather, and a dramatic finish that came down to a sudden-death playoff. After 36 holes, Alexander Avi of Kittanning, PA, and Christopher Faber of Wexford, PA, were deadlocked at +3 (147) — setting up a tense one-hole playoff for the title. With the gallery watching closely, Avi delivered a composed performance under pressure, finding the fairway and sinking a clutch par putt to claim the victory. His steady play throughout the weekend, including an opening-round 71, proved the difference in a tightly packed field. Faber’s 74–73 weekend showcased remarkable consistency, and his second-round rally forced the playoff, while Bailey Donahue of Pittsburgh, PA, finished just two strokes behind at +5 (149) after posting a strong 73 on Sunday. The leaderboard remained crowded all weekend, with Jacob Lenart, Luke Sikora, and Preston Troiano all tying for fourth at +7 (151) — each making a charge in the final round. Conditions at Totteridge demanded patience and precision, with gusty winds and slick greens testing even the most disciplined players. Local competitors filled the top of the leaderboard, giving the event a true Western Pennsylvania feel, as familiar names like Cappetta, Sacriponte, and Geiger added to the depth of the field. In the end, it was Avi’s calm under playoff pressure that defined the championship — a moment that captured the essence of junior golf competition: skill, focus, and resilience when it mattered most. The victory cements Avi’s place among the region’s standout young talents and caps off another memorable stop on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.
