The Midwest/West Regional Invitational, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at Harborside International Golf Club, wrapped up with a spirited battle in the Boys 10–11 Division, where young competitors showed skill and composure well beyond their years on one of Chicago’s most challenging courses.
Thatcher Stuit of Ada, Michigan, emerged victorious with a two-round total of +8 (75–77—152). Stuit’s calm presence and consistency from tee to green helped him navigate Harborside’s firm fairways and punishing bunkers, securing the win by three strokes.
Finishing close behind was Isaac Lee of Alpine, New Jersey, who posted rounds of 73–82 (+11, 155) to take second place after an impressive opening day performance. Akhil Chappidi of Chesterfield, Missouri, claimed third at +28 (81–91—172), while Taylon Matthew of St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, rounded out the field in fourth.
The weekend showcased not just emerging talent, but also the poise and sportsmanship that define the next generation of golfers. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour once again provided an elite competitive stage — and for these young players, a memorable step forward in their golf journeys.

At the Northern Jersey Junior Open, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at High Bridge Hills Golf Club, Lucas Miguel Garcia of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, delivered an impressive wire-to-wire performance to claim the Boys 10–11 Division title.
Garcia posted rounds of 74 and 81 (+15 total), showcasing exceptional control and resilience on one of North Jersey’s more demanding layouts. His first-round 74 set the tone for the weekend and provided enough cushion to hold off the competition, even as winds picked up during Sunday’s final round.
Fraser Gannon of Doylestown, PA, finished second at +29 (87–82), closing strong with a consistent back nine, while Thomas Liu of Summit, NJ, took third at +39 (89–90).
Garcia’s composed play and steady ball striking highlighted his growing potential and capped off a memorable weekend of golf. Kanwar posted impressive rounds of 74 and 75 (+9 total), showcasing remarkable consistency and composure for his age. His control off the tee and confidence on the greens set him apart from the field, securing a four-stroke victory.
George Moore of Akron, Ohio, finished close behind in second at 153 (+13), highlighted by a strong opening-round 70 that kept the pressure on Kanwar heading into Sunday.
The win marks a statement performance for Kanwar, who displayed maturity and precision reminiscent of an elite junior golfer preparing for the next level.
