New Sandy Burr Country Club | November 1–2, 2025 The Boston Fall Finale at New Sandy Burr Country Club brought out the grit and determination of the region’s rising young golfers, and it was Richard Taylor of Acton, MA, who stood above the field, capturing the Boys 12–13 Division title with a composed two-day total of 158 (+14). Taylor opened the weekend with a steady 78, placing himself in early control of the leaderboard. On Sunday, he managed the cool New England winds and slick greens with precision, carding an 80 to hold off a strong charge from the field. His consistent ball striking and ability to recover from early mistakes demonstrated the maturity of a player well beyond his age. Finishing just two shots back, Neil Sullivan of Simsbury, CT, closed with an impressive 77—the lowest round of the division—to secure the runner-up spot at +16 (160). Sullivan’s aggressive approach and confident putting on the back nine made things interesting until the very end. Theodore Goldman of Natick, MA, delivered two solid rounds of 82–82 (164, +20) to take third, showcasing steady play across both days, while Junhang Wu (Newton, MA) and Jack Sung (Newton, MA) rounded out the top five at +26 and +30, respectively. With its narrow fairways and strategic greens, New Sandy Burr Country Club once again proved to be a true test of control and composure—an ideal closing venue for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) in the Northeast. For Taylor, this victory capped off a weekend of confident golf and marked a milestone moment in his junior career. His performance at Sandy Burr embodied the spirit of the HJGT—where focus, perseverance, and passion meet championship results.
