Farmington, CT — The Connecticut Season Finale, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at Farmington Woods Golf Club, brought an exciting close to the fall season with strong performances across all divisions despite challenging course conditions. In the Boys 16–18 Division, Matteo Barbaro of Middletown, CT, held firm to capture the title at 159 (+15), edging out a trio of players — Rowan Banning, Yixun Chen, and Kuisheng Zhou — by a single stroke. Barbaro’s opening-round 74 set the tone for a weekend defined by tight margins and mental toughness. Blake Waidlich of Keene, NH, dominated the Boys 14–15 Division, firing rounds of 76 and 77 (+9) for a commanding win, while Junhang Wu of Newton, MA, secured the Boys 12–13 crown by just one shot after posting a composed 87–80 (+23). On the girls’ side, Ella Michaud of Kensington, CT, earned the Girls 14–18 Division title at 174 (+30), while Anthony Mazzuoccolo of Weston, CT, topped the Boys 10–11 Division at 199 (+55). The event marked a fitting finale to the HJGT’s Connecticut schedule — a weekend full of grit, growth, and competitive spirit that showcased the region’s top rising junior golf talent.

September 2025 | Watertown, CT The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Connecticut Fall Junior Open this past weekend at Crestbrook Park Golf Course, where juniors across six divisions faced a true championship test. The course demanded precision and patience, with tight fairways and tricky greens shaping two competitive rounds. In the Boys 16–18 Division, Dean Alex (Rockland, MA) fired a final-round 68 to win at even par (142), edging Finn Sommer (Trumbull, CT) by one stroke. Gordon Han (Westport, CT) delivered one of the weekend’s best performances, closing with a 72 to capture the Boys 12–13 Division. On the girls’ side, Alexandra Young (Woodstock, NY) claimed the Girls 14–18 title at 169 (+27), while Tanya Jain (Stamford, CT) held off Isabelle Roach (Darien, CT) to win the Girls U13 Division. From under-par rounds to narrow finishes, every division showcased determination and growth. More than just trophies, the event gave juniors valuable experience on a challenging course, preparing them for competition at the next level.
